After the success of TBCMF’s maiden weekend in 2019 we were so disappointed to postpone the 2020 festival, but we are determined to create something for artists, fans and us to look forward to for 2021.

The British Country Music Festival is proud to support country music artists from the British Isles (including all UK countries and Ireland).  We can hear a new sound, more nuanced, slightly subtler, slightly cooler being created by our homegrown talent. The Brits Are Coming!

You can expect headliners playing alongside established acts, playing alongside breaking artists. You will experience an eclectic mix of music styles of country music and all its wonderful sub genres. These including contemporary country, alt country, traditional country, bluegrass, country pop, country rock, folk, country soul, blues and Americana. Whatever the genre, the music comes first.

The festival has a relaxed, informal atmosphere. You will soon be chatting to fellow fans or the artists themselves. Each stage has its own meet and greet area for artists to meet you directly after their performance for photographs and for signing merchandise.

Built in 1875, our stunning indoor venue, the Grade II listed Winter Gardens in Blackpool, is the perfect stage to present a country music festival.  Described as a pleasure palace, our five stages include the world-famous candlelit Empress Ballroom, the subterranean art deco Arena with its twin stages – acoustic and band stages and the tented Pavilion Theatre with its promenading horseshoe.

All the rooms have options for sitting, standing or dancing.

Being indoors gives us lots of advantages. The weather won’t spoil the party and you won’t have to trudge through mud to use temporary toilets.

As well as enjoying great company, a great line up and a stunning venue, all tickets are exchanged for wristbands that let you come and go as you please across the weekend. So you can take advantage of Blackpool’s seaside attractions and the world famous illuminations.

With a stellar band that fires on all cylinders and a new home at Edition Records, Denys’ career continues to grow and blossom. The Late Trane is his powerful and commanding new album, reimagining and reworking ten carefully chosen compositions from John Coltrane’s late music (from 1963 - 1967) with a fresh and modern new interpretation. Elliot Galvin is a gifted composer and pianist, whose maverick imagination and magpie like ability to blend a disparate world of influences into his own unique musical vision, has seen him compared to Django Bates… although in truth he sounds like no one except himself. From de-constructing standards, to creating his own micro-tonal melodica, Galvin’s music is both playful and deadly serious drawing on a wide range of influences from Keith Jarrett to Stravinsky, Deerhoof and The Beatles as well as the films of David Lynch, and the literature of James Joyce. Saturday, September 29th Jean Toussaint - Jean Toussaint - tenor sax, Mark Kavuma - trumpet, Ashley Henry - piano, Daniel Casimir - bass, Ben Brown - drums Grammy-winning saxophonist Jean Toussaint first came to prominence when he joined Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers in 1982, after studying at The Berklee College of Music in Boston. Since moving to London in 1987, Toussaint has released ten critically acclaimed CDs as a leader. Arthur O'Hara Trio - Electric Bass - Arthur O'Hara, Tenor Sax - Chelsea Carmichael, Drums - Ed Harley A London based Jazz, Funk, and Rock trio, drawing influences from artists such as Thundercat, Sons of Kemet and Janek Gwizdala. They performed at the Love Supreme Roundhouse festival and were described as a "festival highlight". Sunday, September 30th Alina Bzhezhinska Quartet - Alina Bzhezhinska - Harp, Tony Kofi - Saxophone, Larry Bartley - Double Bass, Joel Prime - drums Originally from Ukraine/Poland and now based in London, Alina Bzhezhinska is an internationally renowned harpist. She has performed with leading musicians such as Shabaka Hutchings, Django Bates, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and the Glasgow String Quartet.  Her Quartet led the 80th Birthday celebrations for Alice Coltrane around the UK in 2017, and their appearance at the EFG London Jazz Festival in a special triple bill featuring Denys Baptiste and Pharoah Sanders - A Concert for Alice and John - has been nominated for Best Live Experience of the Year at the 2018 Jazz FM Awards. Beat Replacement is a modern jazz fusion group led by the UK's rising drummer talent, Jamie Murray.  With a solid groove style and an open minded approach to free experimentation, Jamie and his band bring a heavy amount of fire and intensity to each performance- with Zhenya Strigalev 'exploring and pushing the limits of the Alto Saxophone', David Preston playing guitar 'like a man possessed', Tomasz Bura 'injecting heartfelt beauty and colourful soundscapes' and Kevin Glasgow filling the background air 'like a sonic boom'. Callaghan now lives in Nashville.  She is one of those performers whose genuine sweetness is apparent in her voice and it shines through in her writing.  Her music blurs the edges between pop, adult contemporary and Americana.  She is a truly talented performer.  BBC's Bob Harris is a fan and says  'Callaghan is a wonderful artist, beautiful warm and hugely talented. Callaghan's songs reflect moments and experiences in her own life, as well as stories that people have shared with her.   They are not strictly biographical, but are written in a universal way, which allows her audience to connect the songs to their own lives. It is exactly 12 months since Callaghan's last appearance at Town Hall Live.  It was a sold out show.  For this concert she will be accompanied by Pete Rinaldi on guitar and Dan Snyder on keyboards. Since then she has released 'Acoustic Coffee House'  which is a 'live studio' performance of her favourite songs from her two studio albums, plus live favourites. Lynne's songs are familiar and comfortable, yet fearless and strong.  Live her performances are polished and rocking, as those who attended last year's concert will testify.  This time around The Good Intentions will consist of Brodie Mohninger on lead guitar, MJ Dandeneau on bass and Shawn Killaly on drums.  The band are known for their hard living style of music, mixing gritty ballads with driving roots tinged guitar. Supporting will be ex Rita Payne member Rhiannon Scutt.  Since her last appearance Rhiannon has been busy writing new songs and will give them an airing at this concert.
