Lincolnhire Day of Music Dance & song at Leadenham August 5
Join in for the third Day of Lincolnshire Folk Music, Dance and Song. Last year around 1,000 people of all ages joined us to watch 40 cracking artists. Join in the singarounds, workshops and sessions.
Stalls of local crafts and kids activities will also be available.

Woody Guthrie Centenary Tribute Session at Lincoln Drill Hall

This Saturday 21st July there is a Woody Guthrie Centenary tribute session at Lincoln Drill Hall, noon-3 pm, in the Drill Hall Cafe/Bar.

For musicians there's still time to participate as a performer, or even just jam along with others! As long as it's Guthrie related feel free to play whatever you like as Woody himself often played songs by and with Leadbelly,Pete Seeger,Sonny Terry & Brownie Macgee and the like. Otherwise, if you are in Lincoln Saturday lunchtime pop in to the Drill Hall, have a spot of lunch and/or a pint and enjoy some good music. Admission is free!

Sat 4^th	Basket Case (New Wave/Pop/Punk) Technically known as a four-piece new-wave pop punk cheesy covers band. Basket Case ‘rattle’ out songs like a machine gun on heat, if there’s a world record for songs per hour these boys must hold it, if Basket Case were a sports car, Jeremy Clarkson would be at the wheel. Playing an archive of punk classics from The Ramones, Clash, Ruts, Buzzcocks, Tempole Tudor and many more. An all round entertaining band. 9pm start
Fri 10^th	Acoustic Night The fourth of our monthly session (second Friday of each month from now on) featuring Stunz & Harpman* playing a* mix of Blues & Bob Dylan songs, Mick Stones and Ken Mayle are both experienced and talented musicians in their own right hailing from Louth. Mick on acoustic guitar and stomp box plus Ken’s vocals and harmonica skills are legendary, especially around Lincolnshire, starting at 10pm. We would also like to invite those who like to have a play and join in or, if they wish, play a few songs solo before our featured guest starts (please bring your own instruments). The idea is to enjoy a nice sedate evening soaking up the easy listening music that acoustic instruments offer. (No Electric). 8pm start
Sat 11^th	The Dave Simpson Trio (Blues Rock) Hailing from the Louth area, we look forward to this accomplished local band gracing Old Nicks playing originals with covers to compliment their performance. Floorless guitar driven, influences include the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Thin Lizzy and other classic blues & rock artists. 9pm start
Sat 18^th	Tornado Radio (Rock/Blues/Progressive) Ex All Schools Are Strange main man Michael Torry now heads Tornado Radio with equally outstanding musicianship and quality personified. Playing an evening of music to include tracks from their new album along with the music of Marc Bolan & T Rex. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Marc Bolan Memorial Fund. 9pm start
Sat 25^th	Bullitt A 4 piece from Holbeach, Bullitt play a broad mix of covers including music from Foofighters, The Who, T-Rex and many more. 9pm start.
Sun 26^th 12 noon	BIG ARVO 7 - An event in support of Wish Upon A Star…….a mini fest of live music from 1pm to 11pm – 8 Bands, Real Ales, BBQ, Hog Roast, Face Painting plus Raffle with Great Prizes. Chris Farlowe with the Norman Beaker Band - Book Now!

CHRIS FARLOWE classic number one ‘OUT OF TIME' written for him by MICK JAGGER and
KEITH RICHARDS is one of the top 50 most played records of all time.
Followed by the classic ’HANDBAGS AND GLADRAGS’ written especially for him by MIKE D’ABO.
His first band was the JOHN HENRY SKIFFLE GROUP; this eventually became
CHRIS FARLOWE AND THE THUNDERBIRDS, This featured future rock giants
DAVE GREENSLADE, CARL PALMER AND ALBERT LEE.
JIMMY PAGE invited Chris to sing three tracks on his solo album ‘OUTRIDER’.

Chris had previously worked with Jimmy on the soundtrack to the film DEATH WISH 2.

In the 70’s Chris became the vocalist with COLOSSEUM and later with ATOMIC ROOSTER.
His album ‘WAITING IN THE WINGS’ was released in 1993 to high critical acclaim.
This album featured the talents of MICKY MOODY, LEO LYONS, ALVIN LEE, BOZ BURRELL
AND ALBERT LEE.
In 1994 COLOSSEUM reunited with DICKHECKSTALL-SMITH, JON HISEMAN. CLEM CLEMSON
and DAVE GREENSLADE it was like the band had never been away.

In September of 1995 Chris recorded a live album entitled ‘LONESOME ROAD’ with the

NORMAN BEAKER BAND who have also worked with such luminaries as JACK BRUCE,

RUBY TURNER ,BB KING, VAN MORRISON and ALEXIS KORNER, J and this combination has

continually toured the UK and Europe and is one of the finest live acts around,

Chris known as the ‘Voice’ is one of the finest singers Europe has ever produced , a true icon

of Blues & Soul
