This Could Be The Last Time – A Local Tribute to Fifty Years of The Rolling Stones.

Tuesday 21^st May 7.30 pm – Lincoln Drill Hall Cafe/Bar

It is fifty years since the Rolling Stones first entered Olympic Studios in London, on Friday May 10th 1963, to record an aborted version of Chuck Berry’s ‘Come On’ and a cut of Willie Dixon’s ‘I Want to Be Loved’.

On Tuesday 31^st December 1963 They played at the end of year party at Lincoln Drill Hall and stayed on to see in the new year, all except that is, Brian and Stu’ who went to the Cathedral believing it was haunted!

The next day the Stones, travelled by train to Manchester to appear on the first ever edition of Top of The Pops and played ‘I Wanna Be Your Man. The Stones returned to Lincoln on the 22^nd September 1964 to play two shows at the ABC.

At Tuesdays event at Lincoln Drill Hall local musicians will pay tribute to the Stones by performing their own versions of some of the bands vast catalogue of songs.

The Coffee Bar Cowboys, Collin Moss with Crossfire Hurricane (AKA Revolver), Steven and Rose McClelland, Dave Mallet, Steve Jackson, Karl Svarc, Richard Silvester, Stuart Wishart with Maurice Mulligan, Keith Luckey and The Boxenburg Boys .

We are also interested to hear from people who have memories of the Rolling Stones visits to Lincoln or may even have met them in the City.

Sun 5th  4pm start	MATINEE PERFORMANCE for ALL Ages celebrating Bank Holiday Sunday with Two-Step, ex Sahara (Indie/Rock) we welcome back this very talented young 5 piece band from Alford playing mainly covers with a few tracks of their own. Live music aimed at ALL ages. Family entertainment supporting Wish Upon A Star.  4pm to 6pm
Fri 10th	Acoustic Night.  Our monthly session (second Friday of each month) featuring Dave Simpson (solo (Blues/Rock) this very talented young Louth gentleman with his guitar driven performance will be playing an acoustic version of his band. Influences include the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Thin Lizzy and other classic blues & rock artists, starting at 10pm.  We would also like to invite those who like to have a play and join in or, if they wish, play a few songs solo before our featured guest starts (please bring your own instruments). The idea is to enjoy a nice sedate evening soaking up the easy listening music that acoustic instruments offer.  (No Electric). 8pm start
Sat 11th	Steel Threads (Folk/Rock) An English ‘Power-Folk’ band, blending their love of Rock, Folk and Acoustic music.  A three piece with a line up of double bass, acoustic guitar and fiddle. Influenced primarily by bands such as The Waterboys, The Levellers, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, New Model Army, REM and Crowded House, the band prides themselves on strong songwriting and genuine musicianship. We defy you to keep still whilst this trio play!  9pm start
Sat 18th	De Ja Vu (Blues) This 4 piece from Scunthorpe play covers from blues, boogie shoes and twister bands such as Stevie Ray, Howman Brothers and many more. 9pm start
Sat 25th	Unshaven (American Roots Music) One of the hottest bands in the area, this 7 piece band generate energy and excitement everywhere they perform. This dynamic band features everything from fiddle to harmonica with bass and drums in addition to guitars and the unique vocals of John Ingamells. 9pm start

Welcome to C-FaB, Cabourne Folk & Blues Festival, 2013. The festival is situated on a beautiful wooded farm located in the Lincolnshire Wolds, not far from Caistor, Market Rasen, and the East Coast. It's a weekend full of activity with music on two stages, along with workshops and other scheduled activities designed for fun and to entertain. The event has a friendly, community environment where you can relax around a log- burning stove while listening to mellow music from some of the best folk and blues artists, dance 'til you drop to some awesome bands, take some time to learn new musical skills or just relax and find your own space.

This year we are also running Cabourne's first Folk-off Competition. Open to all for aspiring Folk and Blues artists and with a cash prize, the winners will also have the opportunity to appear live on stage at ‘Funny As Folk’ 2013.

Red Nose Day @ Lincoln Drill Hall

Just like millions of other people on Friday the 15th March the crew down at Lincoln Drill Hall will be celebrating Red Nose Day and trying to raise a few bob for Comic Relief.

Between 10.30 and 11.30 am The Drill Hall Red Nose Skiffle Band will be strumming and strutting their collective stuff on the High Bridge in Lincoln High Street playing a selection of skiffle, folk, country and fifties favourites.

 Then at twelve midday the action moves indoors to the Drill Hall Cafe Bar for two hours of music, poetry and prose with contributions from Roger and Keith of the Coffee Bar Cowboys, Guitarist Pete Wray, Poetry and Prose from Jenny Clarkson and Maureen Sutton, Singer Song writer Jonny Gillard all topped by a performance by Students of Lincoln College and their Musical Director Dave Mallet.
