Introducing GearJammer

Introducing GearJammer

GearJammer perform as a traditional guitar based band, with the familiar line up of lead guitar/lead vocals, rhythm guitar/backing vocals, bass guitar/backing vocals, and drums.  Rick, the lead guitarist, is also an excellent blues harp player

The band irst formed in September 2017, but went through a number of personnel changes until the formation of the current line up early in 2019.

GearJammer’s style takes a more contemporary and up-beat approach to the blues, and comprises both covers and self penned work.  They cover contemporary blues songs from the likes of Joe Bonamassa, Eric Clapton, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Kris Barras, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Samantha Fish, and Johnny Lang.

The band also continue to find and write new material to ensure their programme maintains a fresh and interesting appeal

GearJammer regularly perform at a mixture of venues, including festivals, pubs, and clubs, and have a busy schedule ahead for 2020, however, we are always keen to add more dates if the diary allows.  If you wish to know more, or book us for an event, please contact us at…

Statford Barn Festival 14 to 18 August 2020

Statford Barn Festival 14 to 18 August 2020
Custom created for Statfold Barn Railway; the Statfold Barn Festival encompasses everything we love about a summer festival, all set in 1,000 acres of spectaular English countryside.

Over three days in August 2020, the stages will play host to live music with well-known headliners, unsigned talent and world-class tribute acts. We're talking popular, sing-along, memory-invoking songs from top musicians. Wrapped around the live music we have plenty of quality entertainment for the children, interactive workshops, live theatre, pop-up panto, a fairground, huge soft play marquee...and much more.

Topping it all off we have a specially invited group of food traders, licenced bars, a comedy stage, all of course the whole festival takes place right alongside an amazing narrow-gauge railway museum.

The line up includes Leicester band GearJammer!

TOWN HALL LIVE

FRIDAY 14TH FEBRUARY 2020

AMY SPEACE

with support from ALI SPERRY

'Amy Speace's songs hang together like a short story collection, united from a common vantage point and common predicaments.  It is a gift to hear a heart so modest even when it is wide open,'
Nashville based Amy Speace is a timeless, classic singer and songwriter.  She has one of the richest and loveliest voices and her songs are luxuriously smart.
Since her discovery in 2006 by folk pop icon Judy Collins, Amy has been heralded as one of the leading voices of the new generation of American singers.  From her beginnings in New York as a classically trained actress with the National Shakespeare Company, Amy started playing her own songs in Greenwich Village Coffee Houses, before moving to East Nashville in 2009.
Since then she has released six critically acclaimed albums, the latest of which 'Me and the Ghost of Charlemagne' is just superb.
Amy has played at Glastonbury, The Cambridge Folk Festival, and most recently The Long Road Festival.  She is also a gifted writer and has published essays in the New York Times,  The American Songwriter and other high profile magazines.
Now Amy embarks on her latest UK tour to showcase 'The Ghost of Charlemagne'.  Her THL concert is the last of five dates.
Support comes from fellow Nashvillian Ali Sperry.  She is a gifted song writer with a sweet personality and even sweeter voice, with the ability to reach listeners with clever lyrics and melodies that resonate in a powerful manner.

Tickets are priced at £13, they can be purchased from the Costcutter store in Kirton (soon to be Londis!), from Brian on 01652 649230 or brianchudley@btinternet.com or get them from www.wegottickets.com

 on
SATURDAY 7TH MARCH, 2020

 it's THE ROBBIE CAVANAGH BAND
with support from Dem Marriner.

We are delighted that Robbie Cavanagh is bringing his band to Kirton, as part of their first headlining UK Tour.
Robbie performs self penned, un-scrubbed tales of heartbreak, love loss and discovery.  When he puts pen to paper he lives by his own words.  He writes with honesty, emotion, and most important instinctively.  He sings with clear, soothing vocals and a gentle manner.
Over the years he has been championed by BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris, who has invited him to perform at Festival and Showcases across the UK and America.
Support will come from the wonderful Demi Marriner.  Demi's passion and emotion is so contagious that it is impossible not to be captivated by her.  Riding shotgun alongside her unique and outstanding songwriting are her powerful vocals and emotive live performances,

Tickets are priced at £13.50 they can be purchased from the Costcutter store in Kirton (soon to be Londis!), from Brian on 01652 649230 or brianchudley@btinternet.com or get them from www.wegottickets.com

On Friday 20th March we welcome back JENN BOSTIC back to Kirton.

Jenn is best known for her song 'Jealous of the Angels' and was championed by Terry Wogan and has appeared on BBC Breakfast and Songs of Praise.  She was named International Touring Artist of the Year in both 2017 & 2018 by the BCMA.  Support will come from Welsh singer Laura Evans.  Tickets are selling fast for this concert, get yours now

Norman Beaker - Blues Man

          NORMAN BEAKER
In 2017 Norman Beaker became only one of eight 21st century British artists to be officially recognised and inducted as a Legend in the American Heritage Society's Blues Hall of Fame alongside Jack Bruce, Peter Green, John Mayall, Jeff Beck, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton.

Norman is one of those very first artists who with such iconic colleagues as Alexis Korner, Graham Bond helped to create the unique British Blues, R&B and Rock sound that captivated the world. Norman kept its signature sound alive throughout his distinguished career, whether playing solo or with a Who's Who of blues, soul and rock from both sides of the Atlantic, including Chuck Berry, Jack Bruce, Van Morrison, Peter Green, Buddy Guy, Ruby Turner and B.B. King.

Though known primarily as a bluesman, Norman seamlessly moves among the genres of jazz, rock, pop and R&B with the grace and ease that characterise his performances and original songs. There aren't many of these gifted first and finest who defined the British Blues genre. Of these rare national treasures who still remain, none serve the music more faithfully than Norman Beaker, whose guitar, voice and original songs are as fresh and powerful as when he first began in the Northern clubs of the '60's...and continue as ageless and enduring as his home city itself.
