Rita Payne Rita Payne are a country and blues acoustic duo with catchy tunes, a hint of darkness and a nice dash of humour. Tonight they will be supported by Karl Toth. This is the latest in our occasional series of gigs featuring the best in local, young cutting-edge semi-acoustic acts.Tickets: £6

Andy Fairweather Low Andy Fairweather Low first came to prominence as the lead singer of Amen Corner where his hits included Bend Me Shape Me, Hello Suzy and If Paradise is Half As Nice. A hugely successful solo career followed with Wide Eyed And Legless being the biggest hit from his 70s albums. Andy has also worked with just about every major artist there is, including Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Elton John, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, The Who, BB King, Van Morrison … and hundreds more. Tonight Andy will be performing his band The Low Riders - Dave Bronze, Paul Beavis and Nick Pentelow Tickets: £18.50

New Jazz 5 Presents Darius Brubeck Quartet Join the celebrated pianist and his acclaimed band for an evening of South African jazz, Dave Brubeck hits, new takes on old standards and original works. During the 1970’s, Darius led his own groups, played with Don McLean and toured the world with his famous father Dave. During the 80s, South Africa became Darius’s focus and he joined the leading band ‘Afro Cool Concept’, toured extensively for 16 years and famously celebrated 10 years of democracy in South Africa with a series of concerts in Europe and the USA. Southern Tenant Folk Union Generally regarded to be the finest bluegrass/folk band in the UK today, STFU are a seven piece band with banjo, mandolin, fiddle & harmony vocals. They perform with ’soul & beauty’ on their murder ballads & laments and tear it up with their ’Hootenanny sawdust-kickers’ and high energy sound. Championed by Bob Harris & Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 2 and lauded by the music press, the band are currently lighting up the folk music scene.
