Gretsch® Honours Michael Guy Chislett With New G613T-MGC Signature Falcon™ With Bigsby®

Gretsch® have announced the all-new G613T-MGC Michael Guy Chislett Signature Falcon™
with Bigsby®.

The Australian born and bred Chislett is a founding member, lead guitarist and celebrated producer for Hillsong United. Chislett’s influence and credentials also expand across multiple genres. He played in Butch Walker’s band and was the lead guitarist for Chicago rock band the Academy Is... from 2007-2011, as well as contributing to albums by Pete Yorn, Pistol Youth and Good Charlotte.

“I reached out to the guys because I felt like there wasn’t a White Falcon that resembled the one I played,” said Chislett. “To have them offer to make me a new one was pretty exciting in itself. I grew up idolizing Brian Setzer—I even have a tattoo—and guys like George Harrison. I never would have even dreamed of having a signature model; it is pretty crazy to me still, and I am just incredibly honoured.”

Chislett’s all-new signature model features a fully hollow body build and a highly resonant solid Sitka spruce top with bound F-holes, vintage 1959-style trestle bracing and laminated maple back and sides for that classic big-body sound with incredible projection and rich, balanced tone.

“Michael was looking for a big, vibrant sound that would give him that famous Gretsch clean while also giving him the ability to drive his tone pretty hard without a lot of feedback,” said Jason Barnes, VP Gretsch Guitars. “With our 1959 trestle bracing and spruce top combination, you get a full and harmonically rich tone that stays very defined and articulate no matter what level of gain you use.”

A semi-gloss maple neck with a comfortable and versatile standard “U”-shaped profile for supple playability is capped by a 12”-radius ebony fingerboard with pearloid Big Block inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets, making complex chords, far-reaching bends and intricate single-note playing effortless.

TV Jones® TV Classic pickups provide powerful tone and unparalleled dynamics, and can be flexibly harnessed with a versatile control layout consisting of three-way toggle switch, individual pickup volume controls, master tone and master volume with treble bleed circuit featuring “Squeezebox” paper-in-oil capacitors for an incredibly silky high end. The Bigsby B6GP vibrato tailpiece with pinned ebony base adds expressive shimmer to playing, and combined with the bone nut, allows for impeccable tuning stability.

“I was surprised how much louder this was,” said Chislett. “My other one is so much quieter,
and has a lot of ‘saggy’ features to it which you don’t hear until you hear it up against something else. Recording with the old one, I remember how I used to turn stuff up quite a lot and it would never sound that loud. This new one sounds a lot more present. You can tell even playing it acoustically, it’s a lot brighter than other guitars, which is really cool.

“There’s something kind of prestigious about it that you don’t have to play too much. And with the Bigsby, you can do so much ambient stuff. I can sit there for hours, just trying to make things feel as slow as possible and last forever.”

This resplendent bird is dressed in a Vintage White gloss lacquer finish with gold sparkle binding, gold pickguard and gold hardware.

“All in all, this guitar is the perfect mix of our best Vintage Select and Players Edition Falcons,” said Barnes.

“This guitar does every style,” summarized Chislett. “I pretty much put Gretsch on everything.”

Nashville Based Band ‘South For Winter’ Release First Full Length Album ‘Luxumbra’

With elements of gypsy, folk, jazz and bluesNashville-based South for Winter's varying sound is united by delicate harmonies, intricate guitar-work, and earthy vocals

(2)South For Winter | Facebook

The long, awaited, full-length debut from the band Luxumbra is a powerful statement from the trio of Nick Stone (vocals, guitar), Dani Cichon (vocals, mandolin), and Alex Stradal (cello).

The simplicity of the band’s lineup is belied by the strength with which they play and the deeply complex music they create that exists somewhere in the nebulous area between blues, acoustic-folk, and jazz explorations, all delivered with thoughtful lyrics and lilting harmonies.

The British Country Music Festival 2021. A Message From The Organisers and Ticket Link

The British Country Music Festival 2021. A Message From The Organisers and Ticket Link

After the success of TBCMF’s maiden weekend in 2019 we were so disappointed to postpone the 2020 festival, but we are determined to create something for artists, fans and us to look forward to for 2021.

The British Country Music Festival is proud to support country music artists from the British Isles (including all UK countries and Ireland).  We can hear a new sound, more nuanced, slightly subtler, slightly cooler being created by our homegrown talent. The Brits Are Coming!

You can expect headliners playing alongside established acts, playing alongside breaking artists. You will experience an eclectic mix of music styles of country music and all its wonderful sub genres. These including contemporary country, alt country, traditional country, bluegrass, country pop, country rock, folk, country soul, blues and Americana. Whatever the genre, the music comes first.

The festival has a relaxed, informal atmosphere. You will soon be chatting to fellow fans or the artists themselves. Each stage has its own meet and greet area for artists to meet you directly after their performance for photographs and for signing merchandise.

Built in 1875, our stunning indoor venue, the Grade II listed Winter Gardens in Blackpool, is the perfect stage to present a country music festival.  Described as a pleasure palace, our five stages include the world-famous candlelit Empress Ballroom, the subterranean art deco Arena with its twin stages – acoustic and band stages and the tented Pavilion Theatre with its promenading horseshoe.

All the rooms have options for sitting, standing or dancing.

Being indoors gives us lots of advantages. The weather won’t spoil the party and you won’t have to trudge through mud to use temporary toilets.

As well as enjoying great company, a great line up and a stunning venue, all tickets are exchanged for wristbands that let you come and go as you please across the weekend. So you can take advantage of Blackpool’s seaside attractions and the world famous illuminations.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to TBCMF 2021 “Where The Lights Are Shining”.

See you in Blackpool from 3-5 September.

Best wishes

Martin & Marina

The KLF: Dance Music Hitmakers Make Songs Available After 29-years

The KLF: Dance music hitmakers make songs available to stream after 29-year hiatus

Dance music duo The KLF have made a selection of their most popular songs available to stream, which had been unavailable for nearly three decades.

Tracks including dance anthems “3AM Eternal” and “What Time is Love” are being made available on a new eight-song compilation entitled Solid State Logik.

In 1992, the band deleted their entire back catalogue, and their music had been officially unavailable ever since, including on streaming sites services such as Spotify or Apple Music.

In the years since The KLF’s withdrawal from music, they have focused on other artistic pursuits, including art and writing projects, while fans have shared bootleg clips of their music and performances on YouTube.

The band, comprised of Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond, announced their departure from the music industry 29 years ago, during an appearance at the 1992 Brit Awards.

Performing “3AM Eternal” after having tied for best group with Simply Red, The KLF shot machine-gun blanks at the audience.

McCartney III is the music icon’s first solo Number 1 album since 1989’s Flowers In The Dirt. It’s
also not the first time he has claimed a Christmas Number 1 album – scoring one 20 years ago when
The Beatles’ greatest hits 1 topped the Christmas charts in 2000, with the Fab Four earning a further six festive chart toppers during the 196
