Sunday 29 August 2021 Can Mean Only One Thing! Beatle Convention Day!!

Sunday can mean only one thing! Beatle Convention Day!!

The Beatles Convention started in Liverpool in the late seventies, but Liz and Jim Hughes brought it to The Adelphi in 1981 where it has been ever since.

Everything and anything Beatles are to be found here, make sure you take some spending money for all of these amazing stalls where you can find whatever collectible you are looking for. Artwork, LPs, singles, box sets, autographs, special editions, photographs and much more.

There are also film shows, live stages, and very special VIP speakers which this year include Beatles author Hunter Davies, John Lennon’s drummer Andy Newmark, Howie Casey who toured with Paul in the seventies, Beatleweek favorite Mark McGann, who first portrayed John Lennon in 1981, and John’s sister Julia Baird.

In the evening. It will be a ‘long long long’ day, but you will absolutely love it!

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss to Release a New Collaborative Album 'Raise The Roof'

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have reunited for a surprise new collaborative album, Raise the
Roof, which will be released on November 19. Their lead single, a cover of the Lucinda Williams stomper “Can’t Let Go,” accompanied the album announcement, which promises a mix of songs that blend together English folk and Americana.

The new album has Plant and Krauss singing songs by Merle Haggard, Allen Toussaint, The Everly Brothers, Anne Briggs, Geeshie Wiley, Bert Jansch, Betty Harris and the band Calexico, among others. There is also a Plant-Burnett original.

The duo plan to tour in 2022

The former Led Zeppelin front-man, previously best known for his high-decibel shrieking and rock star theatrics, found more docile Nashville melodies with country and bluegrass icon Krauss on their first collaboration.

Robert Plant said "Finally the doors are open and after 14 years here's a sequel to Raising Sand. Full of interesting curves and great musicality in the company of great musicians, we "Raise the Roof". Listen to our first single from the record “Can’t Let Go”, out now!"
