For our next concert we welcome London band Danny and The Champions of the World to Kirton. Danny is Danny George Wilson, The Champions are Paul Lush (guitar), Chris Clarke (bass), Steve Brookes (drums) and Geoff Widdowson (keyboards, saxophone).They are just back from tours of Scandinavia and Spain and fit the THL concert in between UK festival appearances and a 20 date UK tour. We are extremely fortunate and privileged to have them play for us.In September last year, they released their fourth album 'Stay True'. The CD is their best yet. It gained rave reviews in the national and music press, being voted 'Album of the Year' by many. It was inspired by the great soul, blues, country and rock and roll of Stax and Muscle Shoals ..... it is Ronnie Lane meets Phil Spector.The Champs are a brilliant live band and have been likened to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Don't miss this opportunity to see them, we may not get another chance.
