Former Status Quo drummer John Coghlan Has Announced His Retirement.

Planet Rock have reported that former Status Quo drummer John Coghlan has announced he’s retiring from music after 60 years.

A statement on John Coghlan’s official Facebook page confirms that the 75-year-old will call it a day once he’s completed a farewell tour with his Status Quo offshoot band John Coghlan’s Quo.

It reads: “After an incredible career spanning 60 years, former Status Quo drummer John Coghlan has finally decided to hang up his drumsticks.

“John and his band John Coghlan’s Quo will be playing a series of dates this year giving fans the opportunity to see John onstage for the last time!”

Coghlan left Status Quo in 1981, however alongside Alan Lancaster he rejoined Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt in Status Quo in 2013 for the Frantic Four Reunion Tour in the UK and Europe, which continued into 2014.
