Cuttin’ Loose  (Rock & Pop) All your favourite hits from the 60s to the present day.  9pm start
Fri 12th 
Acoustic Night.  Our monthly session (second Friday of each month) featuring Swansong Duo, Karen and Nigel will be playing some of their own blues/soul with a tinge of rock material plus covering songs from Led Zep to Stevie Ray to Sheryl Crow, starting at 10pm.  We would also like to invite those who like to have a play and join in or, if they wish, play a few songs solo before our featured guest starts (please bring your own instruments). The idea is to enjoy a nice sedate evening soaking up the easy listening music that acoustic instruments offer.  (No Electric). 8pm start
Sat 13th    
Skeleton Crew (Classic Rock/Rock) A hard rock quintet from Nottingham who effortlessly fuse hard-hitting riffs with memorable melodies and rich harmonies, and deliver it all with a complete absence of grace and decorum. If you like your rock music to pirouette down a catwalk wearing lycra and eyeliner then Skeleton Crew UK may not be for you. If, on the other hand, you prefer your rock music to make you feel like you’ve just been run over by a rather happy truck or some sort of tractor, then you could be in the right place. Its just good, honest, heavy rock and good honest loud people seem to really like it. 9pm start

Random Solution (Classic Rock – Old to New) A Lincoln based 5-piece Rock covers band, who span the generations with music ranging from older classics to modern day. Good set of songs sung by Lincoln X-Factor winner, Danny Lambert together with a good set of musicians who deliver their performance to a high standard. 9pm start.

Sat 27th

Obzidian (Metal/Progressive/Rock) Old Nicks welcome back this very talented band from Stafford. Although ultimately aiming to promote their original material, they are versatile enough to play a full set of originals and classic rock/metal covers, introducing audiences gradually to their progressive, groove based metal original songs of powerful vocals, screamingly fast guitar solos and driving, thunderous bass/drum rhythm section.  9pm start.

Sat 8th Riff Raff (Prehistoric Crunchy Rock) Old Nicks welcome back this brilliant rock covers band, playing covers from AC/DC, early Quo, Wishbone Ash, Hawkwind, Pink Floyd and all that kind of stuff. 9pm start

Fri 14th Acoustic Night. Our monthly session (second Friday of each month) featuring Jo Matthews who is a young acoustic guitarist from the Grimsby area. with a powerful vocal performance playing pop rock covers from Skunk Anansie The Cranberries, Eva Cassidy, Alanis Morrisette and The four non blondes, starting at 10pm. We would also like to invite those who like to have a play and join in or, if they wish, play a few songs solo before our featured guest starts (please bring your own instruments). The idea is to enjoy a nice sedate evening soaking up the easy listening music that acoustic instruments offer. (No Electric). 8pm start

Sat 15th Merlin’s Keep (Celtic Rock/Folk) Old Nicks welcome back this very talented Grimsby based band. An exuberant mix of original material with three- and four-part harmonies, covers of old favourites, and foot-stomping traditional fiddle tunes. 9pm start

Sat 22nd Jester (Classic Rock/Classic Metal) Old Nicks welcome back these Nottingham guys who are now a 4 piece playing a wide range of songs from the 70s to date. Influences include Iron Maiden, Rainbow, Metallica, Motorhead, Black Sabbath and many more. 9pm start.

Sat 29th Gas Station (Blues/Rock) A 3 piece from Lincolnshire playing their own material plus blues covers from greats such as Hendrix, Walter Trout, Joe Bonnamassa, Gary Moore and many more. 9pm start.

Acoustic Night The third of our monthly session featuring a local young talent, Elliott Morris who has been described as “One of the best young musical talents in the country", "...his talent is so astounding yet effortless”. A singer-songwriter, Elliott taps the strings and beats the guitar's body to create an intricate spectacle, together with an original and unique sound integral to his songs, starting at 10pm.  We would also like to invite those who like to have a play and join in or, if they wish, play a few songs solo before our featured guest starts (please bring your own instruments). The idea is to enjoy a nice sedate evening soaking up the easy listening music that acoustic instruments offer.  (No Electric). 8pm start

Still Remains UK (Metal/Rock/Alternative) We look forward to this band’s return to play some of their originals. Their style is very much a cross between the older style metal and newer, fantastic vocals and musicianship.  9pm start

Horncastle Summer Fair – set up outside at the front of the pub, with a seating area to enjoy a drink of your choice whilst listening to music all afternoon. Starting off with a bit of jamming at 11.45pm where some of our Tuesday night ‘jammers’ will grace the stage area playing some of the favourites and more. Followed by the amazing Dave Simpson Trio playing two sets of Hendrix style blues, outstanding musicianship, starting at 1.30pm.  Collecting for Wish Upon A Star.

Firegarden (Classic Rock/Progressive/Funk) Old Nicks welcome back this band from Sheffield as it is always a pleasure to see these guys perform.  Firegarden are a band that believe in the expression of emotion in it's purest form: live and rocking! With a multitude of influences, from classic '70's rock to absolutely anything that excites your ears. They sound ‘British’, but not slavishly so. 9pm start
Sat 21st   
Swansong (Rock/Blues/Soul) This band with an outstanding female vocalist can boast a very high standard of musicianship. Performing songs from Led Zep to Stevie Ray to Sheryl Crow with a sprinkling of R & B and Soul. 9pm start

Sat 28th
Forty Fivers (Post Punk/New Wave) A 4 piece from the Spalding area playing covers predominantly from the 1978 to 1983 period’ish.  Playing songs from Elivs Costello, The Police, Ian Dury, The Cars and many more. 9pm start.

Shiny Happy People are a UK based R.E.M. tribute band who, like the original band from Athens GA, are a four piece outfit faithfully recreating the songs of Berry, Buck, Mills and Stipe.  This band has a wealth of professional music experience including hundreds of live shows and are without doubt the most authentic sounding R.E.M. tribute band around.  9pm start

The Mick Rutherford Band (Blues/Progressive/Classic Rock) Old Nicks welcome back this very experienced and accomplished band play, as described, heavy blues/rock and in live performances take no prisoners. They are proud to be the first of the Blues Matters family to have a top twenty hit (number 4) in the USA I-Tunes Blues Singles download chart. Not to be missed!! 9pm start

The Detuners (Punk/New World) This 4 piece Lincolnshire band focus on late 70's punk rock playing tracks by the likes of Generation X, The Damned, The Vibrators, Buzzcocks, Ramones, The Jam, Cock Sparrer, Ruts, 999 etc... and on occasions venture onto the New Wave side of the fence too.  Well worth coming down for as they always give a brilliant performance. 9pm start

Verbal Warning (Old Skool Punk Rock) The Spirit of 1977, this Nottingham band has entertained Old Nicks’ audiences on several occasions much to the appreciation of all. 9pm start.
Sat 30th
The Sidevalves (High Octane Rock’n’Blues) This accomplished Lincolnshire based outfit are extremely pleased to return to the venue that they consider to be their spiritual home; Old Nicks Tavern. Female fronted this Drums, Guitar and Bass outfit play late 60s and early 70s classic rock covers with some surprise songs thrown in. Guaranteed to provide an entertaining evening. 9pm start

Cornerstone (Rock/Powerpop/Indie) Old Nicks welcome back this talented modern rock band all the way from Austria, who have an undercurrent of the 80's in their music.  Austria may be known as the classical music capital of the world, but make no mistake, Cornerstone are here to rock. 9pm start
Sat 5th    
Bluestrain (Rhythm & Blues) This very accomplished 4 piece from Lincoln play in the spirit of Muddy Waters featuring great blues harmonica and slide guitar. Also playing the music of John Lee Hooker, Howling Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter etc, music very much for dancing as well as listening to.  9pm start

Izengard (Progressive / Rock) Izengard are a group of very committed, seasoned musicians who between them have performed to audiences of up to 44,000. Some members have worked for artists such as Peter Gabriel and composed music for Channel 4 and Torville & Dean. They are a first class band who always put in 100% to their performance playing a wide range of material from influences such as Genesis, Magnum, Journey to Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, early Gary Moore and Van Halen etc.  9pm start.
Sat 19th    
Unfinished Business (Classic Rock/Blues).  This 5 piece with twin guitars and a big sound will be playing tracks that revolve around blues-influenced rock covers by the likes of Cream, Free and Gary Moore, with a few less obvious twists such as Ten Years After and Lenny Kravitz.  True classic rock / blues from the 60s and 70s.  9pm start
Sat 26th
BlackHawkDown (Heavy Rock) Are a new and exciting UK based five piece heavy rock band. Formed in March 2010 and heavily influenced by rock and metal, each member brings their own distinct style to every BlackHawkDown track and in doing so they have created a style that is truly all their own. They describe their influences as ‘mind melting rock’ in the form of Guns n Roses, Alice In Chains, RATM, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Faith No More, Metallica etc. 9pm start

Playing songs from artists such as Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Jimmy Witherspoon, Otis Rush, John Mayall and many more.  9pm start.

Dead Wolf Club (Alternative/New Wave/Punk) Touring from London this 4 piece are excited to announce the release of their first record. Building themselves a reputation as a vitriolic live band, from the debris of smashed guitars Dead Wolf Club rise to present their debut album, due out on 1st February 2012. 9pm start

Quillerdrive (Heavy Classic Rock) Quillerdrive has a little lady with a very big voice and four accomplished musicians who will rock the place to its foundations, playing covers from Led Zep, Thin Lizzy, Janis Joplin, Black Sabbath and many more. 9pm start

Dog Goblins (Rock/Modern Rock) Dog Goblins are a 4 piece alternative rock band from Sleaford and Boston whose influences come from many different places; from folk to punk, from classic rock to indie and everything in between. The band play a high energy set mixing their own material with a mixed bag of covers. This band can provide something for everyone! 9pm start

Sahara (Indie/Rock/Alternative) Old Nicks invites this young 5 piece band from Alford playing mainly covers with a few tracks of their own. Their influences include Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro, Born Ruffians, Counting Crows, Foals, John Frusciante, Karnivool, Muse, Raconteurs, Radiohead plus Red Hot Chili Peppers.  9pm start

The Nicol Blues Band (Blues/Rock) The lean, raw spirit of the blues runs through the core of this Hull quartet, playing tracks by Hendrix, Clapton, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Stevie Winwood and others, plus a few of their own compositions, this well-seasoned bunch show how it’s done.  They are a fantastic band with Les Nicol, who has a musical pedigree as long as his arm, must be one of the finest blues guitarists to grace any stage. 9pm start

Stillpoint (Alternative Rock) This 3 piece touring from Northern Ireland will be playing predominantly their own outstanding material with a few covers thrown in for good measure. They have an epic sound and are well worth the effort to come out and see on a Wednesday evening.  9pm start

The Gypsies (Rock Covers) This 4 piece from Lincoln are a top class rock covers band. Many local radio stations have queued to interview them. A dedicated bunch of guys, all with a wealth of experience. A must see!  9pm start
