New Jazz 5 Present Joe Stilgoe
Live @ Lincoln Drill Hall New Jazz 5 Present Joe Stilgoe
Fri 22 July 2011 8pm
Fri 22 July 2011 8pm
This is an opportunity to see and hear a young and incredibly talented British jazz vocalist, who also plays a mean piano. Joe’s singing, his formidable piano technique (which jazz singer Ian Shaw has described as a cross between Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and Les Dawson) and his sense of humour have made this young man a favourite with audiences everywhere.
‘Joe’s playing is so fluent it borders on virtuosity, I am completely knocked out by him in every way’ Steve Ross

This year their mentor is pianist Tom Cawley, who himself is a former Jazz Vehicle member. Tom also leads his own trio who will be performing the final set tonight. Tom and members of Jazz Vehicle have also been visiting local schools and running workshops, the results will be seen in a short performance tonight.
