JAMES COPUS QUINTET featuring ALEX HITCHCOCK
This powerhouse quintet combines a compelling,
adventurous ear for melody with virtuosic improvising. James Copus is an
award winning jazz trumpeter who is rapidly establishing himself as one of
the most exciting musicians on the London scene. James studied at the Royal
Academy Jazz Course and received the prestigious Derek Watkins award for his
performances. Alex Hitchcock is also highly regarded as one of the
finest young tenor saxophonists of his generation. The band's
increasingly burgeoning reputation on the international jazz stage was
confirmed by first place at the Conad Jazz Contest at the 2018
Umbria Jazz Festival.
“it reminded
me of Miles Davis’s classic quintet with Wayne Shorter” – the jazzman.com

Broomstick - an evening of pure entertainment. So what type of music do this bunch of
bikers and ageing hippies play? Pretty much anything
from bluegrass to folk to rock and pop (most of them can remember the
original releases too!). What's different about Broomstick; no pressure, no egos or tiers of leadership, just
tears of bloody laughter. This bunch just enjoy themselves, and joining in is
compulsory as I found out. 9.00pm Start.

born until she can hear the World Songs.
Follow John on a thrilling quest as he meets a
constellation of cool characters including the most magnificent of all Polar
