Jethro Tull Have Released a New Animated Video for Their 1971 Classic, “Aqualung.”

Jethro Tull have released a new animated video for their 1971 classic, “Aqualung.”

The video was directed by Sam Chegini and begins with the famous illustration of the old man on the Aqualung album cover before expanding into a stark and often devastating meditation on homelessness, from those living on city streets to refugees displaced around the world. Jethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson also makes a cameo in the clip, appearing via the rotoscope animation effect.

News About the Joe Strummer Foundation Studio at The Soundhouse Project

Strummerville have announced that the latest phase of the SoundHouse Project partnership has seen a new studio build-out in their King George Hostel, along with additional funding and in-kind donations of music equipment over the course of 2021.

The SoundHouse Project is part of a dynamic programme at Single Homeless Project (SHP), The Opportunities Programme. This offers collaborative and creative ways for people experiencing homelessness to take an active part, to learn, share and grow through a range of social and cultural activities.

SoundHouse facilitates positive experiences for people improving confidence, self-worth, and
mental well-being. It identifies and supports individual projects and facilitates collaboration, it enables people to feel part of something, take on roles, responsibilities, and ownership. This helps to express and hear themselves, to identify their own and others’ strengths, and support each other’s growth.

The Joe Strummer Foundation Studio is a welcoming and inspiring space that will help support the Soundhouse Project in its mission and its residents to explore their creativity.
