Callaghan Headlines Town Hall Live in Kirton In Lindsey on Friday 6th December, 2024

Callaghan Headlines Town Hall Live in Kirton In Lindsey on Friday 6th December, 2024

The concert will be Callaghan's sixth appearance at Town Hall Live, the five previous concerts

have been sell-outs.  This latest one is expected to be no different.  It is a one-off concert for her and not part of a tour.  She is delighted to be back in Kirton.  It will be a fantastic way to end a memorable year.
Callaghan's extraordinary voice sets her music apart is nothing short of stunning.
Originally from Grantham, she moved to America in 2010 to record her debut album with Shawn Mullins.  Ten years of performing saw her win fans from all over America.  As with many artists things changed in early 2020 when she was all set to tour across the UK and America but only got to do one show before Covid closed down live music.  She moved back home and started a family.  She now has two children and has relocated to Cirencester.
Since 2010 years he has released six full length and one live album. The last three being her 'Acoustic Coffee House' albums.  She is due to release a new studio album in early 2025 and this will be a ideal opportunity for her to showcase songs from it.
Live, Callaghan performs on piano and guitar and gives a stunning vocal performance, drawing comparisons with Sara McLachlan, Eva Cassidy and Carly Simon.  Her songs range from joyous anthems like 'Best Year' and 'Crazy Beautiful Life' and to emotive ballads like 'When You Loved Me' and 'Broken'.  For her latest appearance in Kirton, she will be accompanied by Ant Clark on keyboards and backing vocals.

Tickets for this concert are priced at £16.  They are selling well.  Get yours now to avoid disappointment.  Email Brian at brianchudley@btinternet.com or ring him on 01652 649230.  You can also pop in to Morrisons Daily (Kirton) or buy them on line  from www.wegottickets.com

£7 million in new premises taxes places over 350 grassroots music venues at immediate risk of closure.

£7 million in new premises taxes places over 350 grassroots music venues at immediate risk of closure.

Despite extensive briefing to HM Treasury, Department of Culture, Media and Sport
and Department for Business and Trade about the negative economic, social and cultural impacts of the removal of the 75% business rate relief for Grassroots Music Venues, the Government has today announced that business rate relief will reduce to 40% from April 1st, 2025. The immediate impact is to create a demand for £7 million in additional premises taxes from a sector that, in 2023, returned an entire gross profit across all 830 such venues in the UK of just £2.9 million. 43% of Grassroots Music Venues in the UK made a loss in 2023.

My Family and Other Rock Stars – An Evening with Tiffany Murray - Waterstones Lincoln

My Family and Other Rock Stars – An Evening with Tiffany Murray

Lincoln - High St
Thursday 7th November 18:30 - 20:00

Talk and signing with Tiffany Murray...

My Family and Other Rock Stars is Tiffany's
remarkable, truly unique story of growing up in a rural idyll, of Cordon Bleu cookery and of a childhood where the chances of bumping into Freddie Mercury playing piano, or a group of Hell's Angels turning up to record for Lemmy, or even the hope of David Bowie appearing, were as normal as hopscotch and homework.

Honky Tonks and Country Songs - The 11th Album by American Country Star Joe Nichols,,,

Honky Tonks and Country Songs - The 11th Album by American Country Star Joe Nichols,,,

Joe Nichols has released his latest album, Honky Tonks and Country Songs, out now via Quartz Hill Records.

The first single from the project, “Better Than You,” has been a top five most-added song at country radio (Mediabase) for four consecutive weeks, including one week before the track’s official impact date. The emotionally charged duet with rising country star Annie Bosko is about love at first sight, your last first kiss and realizing nothing else could compare with the feeling you’ve found.

Other tracks from the new project include “Doin’ Life With You,” “Bottle It Up,” “Helpless in a Honky Tonk,” “Hard Fires” and a cover of  the Hank Williams Jr. classic “Country Boy Can Survive,” which has become a fan-favorite at Nichols’ shows.

“My favorite thing about making this new album was, I think my voice is in good shape right now—the best shape it’s been in years,” Nichols says. “In the studio, I think I sounded more true to me, and how I started, than I have in several records. And I knew we had some good country songs, like ‘Doin’ Life With You,’ ‘Bottle It Up’ and several of the country-er things on this record, like ‘Helpless in a Honky Tonk’ and ‘Honky Tonks and Country Songs.’ I just felt like we could lay back and lay down some of those ‘old-school me’ vocals.”

Last week Nichols launched his long-awaited new record at Gilley’s Dallas, headlining the celebration to mark the world-famous honky tonk’s 21st anniversary.

Honky Tonks and Country Songs Track List:
1. “Honky Tonks and Country Songs” – (Tyler Hubbard/Matt Jenkins/Travis Wood/Casey Brown)
2. “Bottle It Up” – (Josh Kear/Dan Isbell/Paul Sikes)
3. “People Still Doin’ That” – (Justin Lantz/Clint Daniels/Jeremy Crady)
4. “Helpless in a Honky Tonk” – (Jared Keim/Ryan Beaver/Neil Medley/Dan Alley)
5. “Country Boy Can Survive” – (Hank Williams Jr)
6. “Hard Fires” (featuring Stevie Woodward) – (Michael Carter/Adam Craig/Matt Rogers)
7. “Doin’ Life With You” – (Jimmy Yeary)
8. “Y’all Do” – (Jake Mitchell/Michael Hardy/Mike Walker)
9. “On and On” – (Jason Sellers/Terri Jo Box/Dan Smalley)
10. “Better Than You” (Joe Nichols & Annie Bosko) – (Derek George/John Pierce)
11. “Amazing Ways” – (Dan Isbell/Jordan Minton/Jonathan Smith)
