Over the years he has been championed by BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris, who has invited him to perform at Festival and Showcases across the UK and America.  The band have played numerous festivals over the last couple of years, including Black Deer, Maverick, Cornbury and Wilderness.

Emergence is Jazz In The Round's new initiative for musicians, sonic artists, producers, cross-arts collaborators and audiences.
And it's coming here again following a successful launch in 2018!

is a growing collective of emerging artists. This ranges from spoken word artists, to harpists and beat boxing. It’s an intimate event that gives people the confidence and platform to express themselves and bare their souls. It also allows artists to collaborate with each other and try something new. A fusion of words and music that has endless possibilities.

Steam Down is an artist collective, weekly event and music community based in Deptford, South-East London.
Founded by multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Ahnansé in May 2017, the initial event was created to connect London based musicians and producers. Since then it has evolved into a weekly event where Steam Down artists and its extended musical family generate spontaneous sonic soundscapes reflecting their lives in the city.

Jason Yarde started his playing career with the Jazz Warriors at 16, and has performed in a wide variety of bands including work with Louis Moholo, Afro Blok, Mano Ventura and the big bands of Manu Dibango, Hermeto Pascoal, Sam Rivers, McCoy Tyner, Andrew Hill, Hugh Masekela and many others.

Edifice Dance Theatre is a UK based dance theatre company that explore a hybrid approach to partner work using contact improvisation and ballroom. They create work that combines the speed, passion and connection of ballroom, with the fluidity, freedom and connection of contemporary dance.

James Beckwith a is keyboard player, composer and producer based in South London. Combining wonky grooves, synthesizers, hip hop beats, vocoder melodies, and jazz music together James creates a sound that is simultaneously lyrical, mellow, and warm, with driving heavy grooves.

Jessica Lauren has been a celebrated part of London’s jazz and soul music scene. She has released 3 albums in her own right, for Soul Jazz, M.E.L.T. 2000 and most recently Freestyle Records, as well as appearing on numerous albums and singles for other artists and labels.

Hexaganol, a high energy sextet with African and Jazz influences, was formed in late 2016, to perform the music of two titans of Jazz – Bheki Mseleku and McCoy Tyner. It was an ambition born of love and experience; Simon and John toured with Bheki while Jason worked with McCoy. These associations bring an authority and authenticity to the group’s music as well as having a strong influence on their original material.
