What's Coming Up at Town Hall Live At Kirton In Lindsay Town Hall TOWN HALL LIVE What a great start to the year it has been so far, with three top class concerts fro Wilson & Wakeman, Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters and Amy Speace.  There is a lot more to come with another three concerts in the space of six weeks.  First up on SATURDAY 7TH MARCH it's THE ROBBIE CAVANAGH BAND with support from DEMI MARRINER   We are delighted that Robbie Cavanaghis bringing his band to Kirton, as part of their first headlining UK Tour.  Robbie has performed twice before at Town Hall Live, in December 217 he supported Danni Nicholls and in September 2019 he was a special guest at Chorlton Country Club's Roadshow Revue. Now his back with his band that comprises of Tom Dibb on lead guitar and backing vocals, Mark Khan on bass and Dan Wiebe on drums. Robbie performs self penned, un-scrubbed tales of heartbreak, love loss and discovery.  When he puts pen to paper he lives by his own words.  He writes with honesty, emotion, and most important instinctively.  He sings with clear, soothing vocals and a gentle manner, stepping on stage with his long hair, Levi's and guitar slung over his shoulder. Over the years he has been championed by BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris, who has invited him to perform at Festival and Showcases across the UK and America.  The band have played numerous festivals over the last couple of years, including Black Deer, Maverick, Cornbury and Wilderness. What a privilege it is to have Jenn Bostic back a Town Hall Live for a third time.  It will be one of only five UK shows on this UK Tour. Jenn grew up in Minnesota but now lives in Nashville and plays big auditoriums back home in the States.  She is a soulful singer songwriter with a hint of blues, soul, country and gospel.  Her emotive song writing and powerful vocals have been touching hearts around the world over the last ten years.  She is best known for her song 'Jealous of the Angels' written for her late father. who died in a car crash when Jenn was just 10 years old. She has performed on BBC Radio 2, BBC Breakfast and Songs of Praise.  In 2017 & 2018 she was named 'International Touring Artist of the Year at the British CMA Awards and co-hosted the Awards Ceremony in 2018.  She has performed sold out tours across America and Europe, playing such venues as The Grand Olde Opry, The Ryman Auditorium, The Lincoln Centre and Bush Hall In London.  She is a big star. She will be accompanied on this tour by a cellist and drummer, whilst Welsh singer LAURA EVANS will play the support slot.  Laura frequently travels to Nashville to write and perform.  She also acts and recently filmed the lead role of a young Tammy Wynette in a biopic about the star's life. The band comprises of Tom Landa on vocals, guitar and jarana (Mexican guitar), Geoffrey Kelly on flute and whistle, Kalissa Landa on violin and vocals, Brad Gillard on bass and banjo and Sam Esecson on drums. TOWN HALL LIVE - KIRTON   NEXT CONCERT ON FRIDAY 10TH NOVEMBER with THE PAPERBOYS with support from SARAH JANE SCOUTEN The Paperboys from Vancouver last played Town Hall Live in July, 2015.  It was one of our best ever concerts.  Now they are back with their adventurous vision of Canadian roots music, spreading good cheer and great music. The Paperboys formed in 1995 when Tom Landa moved to Vancouver.  They soon became a key part of the ever increasing wave of Canadian folk rock bands that included The Duhks, The Bills and Great Big Sea.  The Paperboys, however, were different with Celtic fiddle, flue, and trombone blazing through their songs.  The songs included Spanish language songs that reflected Tom's heritage and rock songs with strong pop influences.  Their sound is a melting pot, that includes healthy servings of Ska, Soca, folk, soul and funk. Mark Lewis on bass, Chris Hillman on pedal steel, dobro and mandolin and Craig Hanson on drums and percussion. The band also appear under the name of Chorlton Country Club, playing Americana music rather than their trademark blues and soul.  They will play the first set. Live Lauren Housley is simply breath taking.  Their are hints of blues, soul, rock and country in her locker and she has a warm, intense and enjoyable style of her own. TOWN HALL LIVE - KIRTON  Thanks to all who attended the last concert by The Honeycutters.  The band put on a super show in front on a sell out audience.  Rhiannon Scutt played a wonderful support slot also  You can see some of the photographs from the evening here OUR NEXT CONCERT IS ON SATURDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 2017 with THE BLACK FEATHERS with support from PAUL McClure and a special guest performance from KATE ELLIS Doors 7pm, the music will start at approximately 7:30pm The BLACK FEATHERS –‘Mesmerising and stunning in equal measures – gorgeous close harmonies, two voices paired to perfection’. When The Black Feathers last appeared at Town Hall Live, in August 2015, they were just about to release their debut album ‘Soaked to the Bone’.  The album met with critical claim on radio and the UK Music press.  One year later they released a stunning live album ‘Live at the Convent’. The Black Feathers are Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler, who draw their influence from a number of wells, with Americana, folk and indie rock sensibilities co-existing comfortably in their musical world, with Ray’s guitar work buoying the kind of harmonies often only heard in family bands.  The pure emotion and subtle timing of their song delivery is as evident as the enjoyment radiating from their on stage chemistry. The duo got together in 2012 and have been busy touring ever since, enticing and captivating audiences as they go.  In 2014 they released their debut EP ‘Strangers We Meet’ and later that year embarked on a seven week tour of America. They followed that up last year with a two month stint in the States and also supported Eddi Reader on her Irish tour.  They were busy throughout 2016 and it would have been easy to rest on their laurels, but instead have been busy working on new material, which they are planning to release as a set of 3 EP’s before the end of this year. Supporting will be PAUL McCLURE, ‘The Rutland Troubadour’.  Paul is an incredibly talented songwriter with big catchy melodies.  His songs are at times very humourous, rebellious, sometimes very sad, but always honest.  Earlier in the year he toured with his band, The Local Heroes, but now he is back playing solo.  His material mirrors his personality, confident, warm, original, individual and guaranteed to make you smile.
