The 1964 British Invasion Night @ Lincoln Drill Hall
Tuesday
20 May 7.30pm in the Café Bar @ Lincoln Drill Hall
The
Beatles’ triumphant arrival in New York City on February 7, 1964, opened
America’s doors to a wealth of British musical talent. What followed became
known as the second British Invasion. While the Beatles were its undisputed
leaders, the Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Dusty Springfield and a host of other
British acts would, within a matter of weeks, dominate the US charts.
On the 20th of May,
50 years on, local musicians pay tribute to the British bands and artists of
the mid-sixties who led this friendly invasion. Tickets: £5 from 01522 873894.
