KIERAN GOSS

with special guest ANNIE KINSELLA

Performing @
Kirton Town Hall Live

Friday 22nd May

Long hailed as one of Ireland's leading songwriters KIERAN GOSS  is the next artist to appear at Town Hall Live.  He will be accompanied  by Annie Kinsella.  Individually they are both gifted singers, but when they sing together magic happens, their harmonies and their chemistry together are just sublime.
Kieran has played major venues across Europe and shared stages with the likes of Mary Black, Rodney Crowell, Beth Nielsen Chapman and Kimmie Rhodes.
His songs have been covered by many major artists and whilst his songs have made him a star, his live shows have made him a legend.  Rodney Crowell, a long time friend and collaborator gives this endorsement ' I have toured with Kieran and watched him perform many times.  I have seen him win the hearts of everyone in the room, not just with his great songs and instinctive musicality, but with his warmth and humour.  Kieran Goss is one of Ireland's natural treasures'
In November and December 2014 followed up a 30 date concert hall tour of Germany and Switzerland with reunion concerts with the legendary Mary Black at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
In may this year he embarks 19 date tour of the UK and his concert in Kirton is the 12th date of the tour.  Don't miss it because make no mistake, Kieran is one of the most gifted performers around today.  He has an amazing ability to reach out to the audience an connect with them in a special way.  This guy is the real deal.
Support will come from North West duo Mairead O'Donnell and Lorna Bird.  They have been part of the UK music scene since the 90's and recently returned after a short break.  Mairead provides melodic guitar for the two perfectly blended voices.

Advance tickets are priced at £12 otherwise £13.50 on the door. Tickets can be obtained from the One Stop store in the town, from Brian on 01652 649230 or from www.wegottickets.com

Then next time at Town Hall Live ...

For our June concert we welcome back The Good Lovelies to Town Hall Live.

The Good Lovelies are Caroline Brooks, Kerrie Ough and Sue Passmore.  They will be joined on their short UK tour by bass player MJ Dnadenau, who played at THL with Amanda Rheaume last September.
The Good Lovelies are funny, upbeat, with just a pinch of sass.  They sing text book three part harmonies, with each member taking it in turns to sing lead vocals.  During their set they constantly swap guitar, mandolin and banjo throughout their set.
They will be showcasing songs from their soon to be released 4th album 'Burn The Pa

Great Music @ Lincoln Drill Hall This Weekend

Don’t plan anything for this weekend until you have checked what’s on at Lincoln Drill Hall!
On Friday evening at 8 pm NewJazz 5 present the Dennis Rollins ‘Velocity’ Trio

Generally acknowledged as the most exciting, entertaining and talented trombonist in Britain today, Dennis honed his skills with the National Youth Jazz Orchestras before joining Courtney Pine’s pioneering ‘Jazz Warriors’. The ‘Velocity’ Trio places Dennis alongside the funky drumming of Pedro Segundo and the groovy organ of Ross Stanley. A very cool evening! Tickets £14 (£12 concessions / £8 students)

On Saturday at 8pm the Drill Hall present Kieran Goss

Last seen on the Drill Hall stage in February when he supported Fairport Convention, Kieran Goss has long been hailed as one of Ireland's leading songwriters and performers. But if his songs have made him a star, his live shows have made him a legend. Live on stage is where Kieran Goss really shines. “The sense of fun is tremendous, the playing first rate and the songs are sheer quality. The encores were genuine, but only because the man is too.” The Irish Times Tickets: £12 in advance (£14 on the day)

And there’s more...
There are free music sessions in the Drill Hall Cafe/Bar.
On Friday from 12.00 Midday 'til 2.00 pm it’s Free Music Friday with Keith Luckey and on Saturday from 12.00 Midday 'til 2.00 pm The Saturday Session with Double Take.
Why not come along and partake in a coffee and/or a bite to eat, or even a pint (or two) while enjoying some laid back live music?

Kieran Goss was born and raised in Mayobridge, County Down, Northern Ireland. He was just nine years old when he got his first guitar. Growing up in a big family with diverse musical tastes meant that early on he was hearing his brothers’ Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson records, his mother’s Frank Sinatra records and his sisters’ Rolling Stones records. These varied influences gave Goss his own unique sound.
Goss supported himself while a law student in Belfast by playing club gigs and the University Students’ Union, earning himself support slots for Elvis Costello, Christy Moore and Joe Jackson along the way. He recorded his first album, Brand New Star, in 1989. It contained the songs "Brand New Star" and "Just Around The Corner," which came to the attention of Mary Black as she was preparing the album Babes In The Wood. She recorded both songs.
Kieran followed up Brand New Star with New Day in 1994 and in 1998 he released the album Worse Than Pride, which contained the Top 10 single "Out Of My Head." It was the second most played song on Irish radio that year. Worse Than Pride achieved double platinum status nine months after it was released. Red-Letter Day followed this in 2000 containing fan-favourite "Reasons To Leave".
In the winter of 2002, Goss released the compilation Out Of My Head... The Best Of Kieran Goss. His sixth studio album, Blue Sky Sunrise, was recorded in Tennessee in the spring of 2005 and was produced by Rodney Crowell and Peter Coleman. It was released later that year.
Goss currently resides in County Sligo, Ireland.
