Lynne Hanson and the Good Intentions Saturday 17th November at Kirton In Lindsey Town Hall

TOWN HALL LIVE

  presents
LYNNE HANSON & THE GOOD INTENTIONS

on
SATURDAY 17TH NOVEMBER
with support from AMY ANDREWS

Lynne Hanson started playing guitar as a teenager, eventually working her way to an award winning debut album in 2006.  Tow more albums quickly followed and each garnered critical approval.  Lynne then took time out, before returning in 2014 with the excellent 'River of Sand', which saw her writing mature into a more intuitive and visceral style.  'Uneven Ground' followed in 2017 and explores giving sound advice through song writing and fighting back against the devil within us.
At first listen, Lynne Hanson's warm, but gritty music leads you to think of America's South, but Lynne is in fact from Ottawa, Canada.
Her sound is born honestly, through a lifetime of experiences and influences expressed through rock, blues and roots music that bleeds from her very being.  Her songs are familiar and comfortable, fearless and strong.  Her bluesy croon is pure and full of passion.
At the start of 2018, Lynne teamed up with Lynn Miles to release an album and tour under the name of The LyNNeS.  Both were a great success.

Now she is back with her band, The Good Intentions which again features MJ Dandneau on bass, plus new members Kevin Corbett on lead guitar and Cody Iwasiuk on drums.
Lynne's previous performances at Town Hall Live have been a joy and we are sure that this concert will be no different.
Supporting, as a special guest will be AMY ANDREWS from Atlanta, Georgia.  Amy has a powerful voice that can change from soaring to reserved and is reminiscent of Eva Cassidy.  There is an intimacy in Amy's live performances that make the listener feel she is singing to them personally.  Her voice is strong, seductively smooth and full of emotion.  Earlier this year she released her debut album 'The Best'

Advance Tickets are £13.00 and can be obtained from the One Stop store in Kirton, from Brian on 01652 649230 or brianchudley@btinternet.com or from www.wegottickets.com
Venue:  Town Hall, Market Square, Kirton in Lindsey, N Lincs, DN21 4LZ
and then for our last concert of the year we welcome
DANNI NICHOLLS to TOWN HALL LIVE.

She will be accompanied by Tom Dibb and Mark Lewis with support from ROBBIE CAVANAGH.
This concert is on Friday 7th December

Danni Nicholls effortlessly slips from smoky soul, folk-pop and heart wrenching alternative country, all in her trademark rich, velvety voice.
Danni's start continues to rise, with two consecutive Americana Music Association Award nominations for Album of The Year in 2017 and Artist of the Year in 2018.  She also performed at this year's Folk Alliance International in Kansas.  In May this year she embarked on her next musical journey, making a new studio in Nashville with renowned producer Jordan Brooke Hamlin.  It will be released in early 2019.
Danni will be accompanied by two members of the Lauren Housley Band, Tom Dibb on lead guitar and Mark Lewis on bass.
Support will come from Liverpool artist ROBBIE CAVANAGH.  Robbie's beautiful lyrics and flawless soulful vocals, along with his incredible live performances never fail to turn heads.
Back to Danni Nicholls, the word that reoccurs in any review for her is elegance.  Bob Harris of Radio 2 hails her and says 'I absolutely love the beauty and elegance of her music and voice'
Advance Tickets are on sale NOW and are priced at £13.50.
They can be purchased from the OneStop store in town, Brian on 01652 649230 or www.wegottickets.com

The Rutles on Tour, May-June 2019

The Rutles on Tour, May-June 2019

After the success of last year's Major Happy Tour, Neil Innes and John Halsey (aka Ron Nasty and Barry Wom) have been persuaded to bring THE RUTLES back for one more UK Tour during May/June 2018.

Several dates on the last tour sold out in advance, including London, Liverpool, Brighton and Glasgow. They already have some venues confirmed for 2019. Scroll down for dates and details.

As everyone knows, The Rutles story began on January 21, 1959 at 43 Egg Lane, Liverpool, where Ron Nasty and Dirk McQuickly first bumped into each other. Ron invited Dirk to help him stand up. Dirk, merely an amateur drinker, agreed and on that spot a legend was created, a legend that will last a lunchtime.

They were soon to be joined by Stig O'Hara, a guitarist of no fixed hairstyle, but it would be another two years before they found their regular drummer, Barrington Womble, hiding in the van. When they did, they persuaded him to change his name to save time and his haircut to save Brylcreem. He became simply Barry Wom.

The rest of The Rutles story is legendary (and can be read on the band's realtively new website).
LINE-UP
The Rutles line-up will be:Neil Innes (lead vocals/piano/guitar) | John "The Admiral" Halsey (drums/vocals)| Jay Goodrich (bass/vocals) | Phil Jackson (keys/piano/vocals) | "Rutling" Ken Thornton (guitars/vocals)

Among other things, Neil Innes was a founding member and principal songwriter of The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, as well as the "musical member" of the Monty Python team.

Although the tour period lasts for 30 days, The Rutles will not be avaiable for more than roughly 18-20 shows, as the 'old boys' like to take a break every few days to enjoy the countryside...

The band became a regular feature on BBC radio, recording tracks for both John Peel and Andy Kershaw sessions as well as supplying music for various TV Programmes like BBC ‘Play for Today’ and BAFTA award winning TV play ‘Kisses At Fifty’.
