Gretsch® Release theG6136 Rich Robinson Magpie.

Gretsch® Release the all-new G6136T Rich Robinson Signature Magpie with Bisgby,

Rich Robinson has been at the forefront of rock ‘n’ roll for nearly three decades, ever since his high school days when he co-founded The Black Crowes. Heralded as one of the best live rock acts, The Black Crowes went on to sell over 35 million albums and churn out several charting singles including “Hard to Handle” and “She Talks to Angels,” which Robinson wrote the music for at the tender age of 15. Robinson continued to forge his indelible music legacy as the founder and guitarist for the Magpie Salute, whose 2018 studio album debut High Water I earned instant critical acclaim, while also reuniting with his brother Chris for The Black Crowes Shake Your Money Maker 30th anniversary tour in 2021.

Summoning the light and dark of thundering tones, the G6136T RICH ROBINSON SIGNATURE MAGPIE WITH BIGSBY® pays homage to an artist who commands the utmost respect.

A veritable hollow body cannon, this signature Falcon-style guitar features a highly resonant 3-ply maple body with solid spruce top and 1959-style trestle bracing with a spruce block under the bridge, and oversized F-holes for explosive sonic projection and maximum feedback control. A 12”-radius ebony fingerboard with 22 medium frets and mother of pearl Neo-Classic™ inlays tops off a maple neck for playability as impressive as its style.

A TV Jones® Classic humbucking bridge pickup provides pristine highs and stout lows with balanced harmonics, while a Broad’Tron™ BT65 neck pickup drives the guitar’s unique voice with a robust and punchy midrange and an uncommonly smooth high-end. The control layout— separate bridge and neck volume knobs, three-way position toggle switch, master tone and master volume with treble bleed circuit—allows for infinite tonal variations.

The G6136T is the epitome of style with a Raven’s Breast Blue gloss lacquer finish, silver pickguard adorned with Magpie logo, silver sparkle body and neck binding and nickel hardware.

Other premium features include Grover® Imperial™ tuning machines, amber jeweled G-arrow control knobs, bone nut, Adjusto-Matic™ bridge with pinned ebony base and string-thru Bigsby® B6 tailpiece. A hardshell case is also included.

Latest News From Topic Records – November 2020

Latest News From Topic Records – November 2020

Martin Simpson releases his new album "Home Recordings" on 13 November and the latest single from the album is out today, find out more below.

Martin Simpson Home Recording Out 13 November

Martin Simpson’s next album was going to be a live one. But the lockdown put paid to all that. Even so, this cloud does have a silver lining.

And what a silver lining it is. Unable to play to audiences (Martin can average over 100 gigs a year) or go into a recording studio, the only solution was to record a new album at home.

Were it not for the gaggle of geese flying overhead (you can hear them on ‘Lonesome Valley Geese’) and the birds happily tweeting on the closing track, you perhaps wouldn’t know this wasn’t a studio album. Recorded by his regular producer, now neighbour, Andy Bell, the aptly-named, ‘Home Recordings’ finds Martin singing and playing, literally amongst his beloved guitar and banjo collection and out on his Peak District-facing porch.

Find the first two singles "October Song" and "The Times They Are A-Changin'"

Home Recordings reviews so far...

“Martin is solo throughout except for some sparingly used backing vocals and the sound of Home Recordings somehow takes me back to when I first heard him playing as support to Steeleye Span in the early 70s. I think this record will be close to hand for quite some time.”
Folking.com
“This is an album to listen to over and over and which could only really be improved upon had there been some interference from the cat.”
Northern Sky (★★★★★ 5 stars)
““Home Recordings” is an unassuming title - but untold riches lie behind the front door.”

Arctic Monkeys Announce New Live Album – All Proceeds to War Child

The NME report that Arctic Monkeys announce new live album recorded at London’s Royal Albert Hall As with the 2018 gig, all proceeds from the album will go to War Child

The album, out on December 4, was recorded at the band’s 2018 show at London’s Royal Albert Hall. As with the gig itself, all proceeds from the release of the album will go to War Child, as the band explained in a series of tweets announcing the album.

“On June 7 2018 we played a special show at London’s Royal Albert Hall,” they wrote. “All proceeds from that night were donated to War Child in support of the vital work they do protecting, educating & rehabilitating children who have experienced the trauma of conflict and the horror of war.”

The band added: “The situation that was bad in 2018 is now desperate and those children and their families need our help more than ever.

“To enable War Child to reduce their funding deficit and continue their valuable work, we are releasing a live album, recorded on that evening. All proceeds will go direct to the charity.”

Bio for TOOFA

TOOFA are harmonic duo Graham Cleaver and Andy Hodgson, playing bluesy-rock-and-roll including songs by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

 Bio for Charity Stow

Charity Stow is an up and coming singer-songwriter based in
Nottingham. She hails from a musical family and has found her
unique sound with support and guidance from her father, Jack.

Both are self-taught musicians, which explains Charity’s intuitive
attitude towards music, which has always been a big part of her
life: her song writing has been shaped by the music of the greats,
such as Carole King, Bob Dylan and The Beatles.

Add into to this influential mix new artists such as Billie
Marten, Daughter and Lucy Rose, who continually inspire her, and
Charity’s niche sound makes perfect sense. There’s a real sense of
making something new without losing the roots of the old.

Charity’s hometown is the small, quaint town of Stamford and since
leaving there to move to Nottingham she has taken much more of an interest in song writing. Sometimes a dramatic change is what is
needed to ignite a young songwriter working her way through a new
phase in life and the inevitability of feeling lost without the
bubble of home to guide you.

Song writing is a form of therapy for
Charity and you can hear this through the honesty of her lyrics
and passion behind the tracks.

Charity is finding her own place in the music scene and is
creating a unique sound through which to channel her experiences.

‘here’ is her debut, original single and it gels her old-time,
soulful influences with a modern and exciting feel
