Hookers & Blow release new single 'Time of The Season'
out now on Golden Robot Records
Hookers and Blow the now
legendary project formed by long time Guns N' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed and
Quiet Riot guitarist Alex Grossi, recently hit the studios last year to record
a covers album that will be released in 2021 via Golden Robot Records. Now the
band are set to release the fifth single off the album, a cover of The Zombie’s
Time Of The Season on the 8th February.
Time Of The
Season follows the release of the singles Shakin' (Eddie Money), Rocks Off
(Rolling Stones) and Ziggy Stardust (David Bowie) and Trampled Underfoot (Led
Zeppelin)
“We love the
Zombies. Great band with a great name led by the incomparable Rod Argent and
his keyboard wizardry. Time of the Season is an iconic song with a timeless
message. It was our intention to try and honor them and all of that. To help
get the word out and share the burden as well as the fun, the lovely Nadja
picks up the lead vocals on this one.”- Dizzy Reed
Joe Bonamassa - Drive (Live At Carnegie Hall – An
Acoustic Evening) 2017
In January 2016, Joe Bonamassa made a short acoustic tour in
the United States with Anton Fig (drums)
and Reese Wynans (piano),
alongside Chinese-American cellist and erhuist Tina Guo, American mandolin and banjo player Eric Bazilian, Egyptian percussionist Hossam Ramzy, and Australian backing vocalists Mahalia Barnes, Juanita Tippins and Gary Pinto. The tour ended with two performances at New York City's Carnegie
Hall on January 21 and 22, which were described in the
tour's press release as being the recognition of one of Bonamassa's
"childhood dreams".
Speaking to Guitarist magazine about the shows, Bonamassa
recalled that "Carnegie was a life-long dream because I was a born New
Yorker. Carnegie was this mystical place, you know? They don't run many
non-classical concerts through there. To make it there and to do two nights with this incredible nine-piece acoustic band
really means something to me and it was great”.
On this week's Doc Mason Radio Show on Peterborough Community Radio show 17 tracks have been sent into the show from some amazing quality local artists & beyond .
