The Lincoln, UK, MashUp is Back! #lincolnartsmashup

The Lincoln, UK, MashUp is Back…

The second Lincoln Arts MashUp will take place on Wednesday 2nd December from 5.30pm once again at the Brewhaus on the corner of Silver St and Broadgate, in Lincoln, UK.

The first one, back in October, was amazingly well attended by around 30 local creatives and was a surprising success judging by the positive comments that were flying around, for which many thanks! Not that anything amazing happened (though the pizzas were pretty amazing) but that was never the idea – it’s just a very informal social / networky thing open to anyone who works or is involved in the creative sector in and around Lincoln. A chance to get together with other creative types and chat/goss/discuss, whatever… and the more the merrier so please spread the word.

There’s free pizza again this time (thanks again to Visit Lincoln) and the bar is very much open.

And half way through we offer a slot called the MixTape when anyone can grab the floor for a couple of minutes to tell us about a project, an idea, an event or a workshop that ‘s coming up… or put out a call for artists to collaborate… or ask for some advice… or just have a good old rant (constructive of course).  A number of ideas were discussed and/or emerged last time and I am looking forward to seeing how some of these might have developed or changed completely….

Jack Kerouac’s On the Road

This is the novel that shook the ‘American Dream’ and epitomised the teenage rebellion of the 1950s. It gave voice to what came to be called the ‘Beat Generation’ of underground America, with its love of rock and roll, drugs and motor bikes. Come and explore the life of this compulsive writer who anchored a particular time and place and changed what was ‘acceptable’ in literature for ever.
