As a performer Alice is sure footed, captivating and familiar to her audience from the very first song. Alice spent three years, from 2013 to 2016 in Seattle and during that time became a familiar face in the acoustic music scene playing numerous concerts locally.  In the summer of 2016 she returned to Boston and has been busy making herself known across America ever since. For her first UK tour, Alice will be accompanied by the world renowned bassist and acoustic guitarist Freebo, who has played with Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young and Loudon Wainwright and may other top stars.  He is also an award winning songwriter and producer. The lead singer of Matthews Southern Comfort is Iain Matthews.  Iain grew up in Scunthorpe and on leaving school he worked for Jack Tighe's in Kirton.  Now he is back. He left Scunthorpe in 1967 to seek fame and fortune in London.  He was a founding member of Fairport Convention and was their lead vocalist on their first three albums.  He moved on to form Matthews Southern Comfort, exploring his interest in American music.  In 1971 the band has a No. 1 hit with Joni Mitchell's 'Woodstock' Iain went on to have a successful solo career in America and went on to form and play in Plainsong, before relocating to Holland in the 90's. Never one to dwell on past successes, Ian reformed MSC simply because he didn't feel he got it right the first time.  The new band features an all Dutch line up of incredible musicians.  There is renowned guitarist, song writer and producer BJ Baartmans on guitar, Bart De Win on keyboards and singer song writer Eric Devries on guitar and harmony vocals. Birds of Chicago - Coming to Town Hall Live Kirton

TOWN HALL LIVE   OUR NEXT CONCERT IS ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 7TH MAY  BIRDS OF CHICAGO In so many ways we are a word weary culture, ever searching for ways to communicate in fewer and fewer syllables.  Our on line, blogged out, Yor tubed attention spans are truncated and fragmented like never before, BIRDS OF CHICAGO the collective centred around Jeremy Lindsay (aka JT Nero) and Allison Russell, reassert the simple notion that beautiful words and music can still tap deep veins of emotion. The band were formed in 2012, when Nero began writing for his vocal star muse Russell.  Both were accomplished singer song writers of their own, Jeremy with his band, JT & The Clouds and Allison with the acclaimed roots outfit Po'Girl, but together there was an unmistakable chemistry.  JT had found the perfect voice for his rock and roll psalms, whilst Allison moved from being the primary songwriter to interpreter. Both JT & The Clouds and Po'Girl played Town Hall Live in the early days and Birds of Chicago last played Kirton in 2013.  In the five years since, the band have developed a fervent following across America, touring 200 dates a year, sometimes as a five piece band and sometimes as a four piece.  They have released four albums and they are back in the UK to promote their latest CD 'Love in Wartime' which is released in on May 4th, and excellent it is too. In addition to Jeremy on guitar and vocals and Allison on banjo, clarinet and vocals, the band will be made up of Deren Ney (guitar), Chris Merrill (bass) and Nick Chambers (drums) Check out a video of their song American Flowers Support will come from local artist Luke Todd.  With poignant lyricism in his songs, Luke conveys his thoughts in a way that capture how many of us feel, but rarely find the way to express. Bristol based Elles has a talent for seamlessly weaving roots, blues and rock, with a contemporary edge.  After releasing 2 EP's in 2016, she released her debut album, 'Wildfire' in September 2017.  The album attracted 5 star reviews across the music press, and the lead single from it was supported by BBC Radio 2.  Elles recorded the album at the world famous Blackbird studios in Nashville with top producer Brad Nowell.  It features some of Nashville's top musicians and was 'blended' back in the UK.  The result is a unique coming together of trans-Atlantic styles. Elles will perform with her band that includes Joe Wilkins on lead guitar, Zak Raymond on bass and Tom Gilkes on drums, with Elles trademark husky vocals providing the lead. Supporting Elles will be Bridlington singer song writer Gracie Falls, who in 2016 won the UK Unsigned Artist Award. TOWN HALL LIVE  NEXT CONCERT  FRIDAY 12TH JANUARY, 2018 ORPHAN COLOURS Support: RACHEL CROFT Breezy, carefree, unpretentious and unique, London band Orphan Colours are well positioned to make an big impact on the UK music scene in 2018, with the release of their debut album 'All on Red'.  Their Town Hall Live concert is a pre curser to a showcase set at the UK Americana Awards in February and a full UK tour thereafter. Orphan Colours are Steve Llewellyn, Dave Burn, Steve Brookes, Fred Abbott and Graham Knight.  Llewellyn, Burns and Brookes were members of top UK Americana band Ahab, who disbanded in 2013.  Abbott was in Noah and The Whale.  The obviously have impressive credentials, Llewellyn and Burn honed their song writing with Ahab, who were an unmissable live act.  Noah and The Whale played world tours and appearances on numerous TV shows. Damian Wilson is widely known for his contribution to Progressive rock.  He has appeared on 70 albums and has released five solo albums.  He played the lead role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables UK National Tour.  Damian has one of the most versatile voices in rock music, with an incredible range. Adam Wakeman is most well known as the keyboard player with Black Sabbath,  He has also released nine albums with his father Rick. with whom he has played all over the world with.  He is a highly sought after keyboard player and musical director.  His career has seen him tour, write and record with some of the biggest selling names in music.  In 2016, Adam accompanied Callaghan on her second visit to THL.  He has wanted to come back ever since and we feel privileged to present this concert, which is sure to be a magical evening.
