on
Sunday 20th
December, 2015
With work finished for Christmas, what better way to set us all up for the
festive season than a concert from DANNY & THE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD.
Fronted by Danny George Wilson they are the UK's top band playing the Americana
rock circuit. With Paul Lush on guitar, Henry Senior Jnr on pedal steel, 'Free
Jazz' Geoff Widdowson on keyboards and saxophone, Chris Clarke in bass and Steve
Brooks on drums they will have us dancing in the aisles.
The band's rich mix of Americana and soul is intoxicating. Danny's voice
oozes character and the Champs are all top musicians.
Their 2103 album 'Stay True' was one of the year's best albums. In 2014
they followed it up with a double live album 'Live Champs' recorded at The Jazz
Café in London. Early this year they brought out 'What Kind of Love' which got
5 star reviews across the music press.
Live they are simply flawless and take the music to another level, they are
like Springsteen filtered through a stack of Stax 45's.
Support will come from the charismatic Clubhouse Records artist from
Rutland, Paul McClure. The passing world is the subject of Paul's songs, in
particular the loves and losses that come his way. He is the perfect opening
act for the Champs
Advance tickets are priced at
£12.50. Tickets can be obtained from the One Stop store in
the town, from Brian on 01652 649230 or from www.wegottickets.com
They will be £14.50 on the

and
so on to 2016 ... we
have some fantastic acts
lined up for the new year.
First
up is:
ROD
PICOTT
on Saturday 6th February
Rod Picott is the
son of a welder from Berwick Maine, who now lives in East Nashville. Rod
started out as a sheet rock hanger and his songs bear the real life scars of
blue collared America, they are inhabited by manual workers, circus hands,
boxers and working girls.
Rod has toured the UK every year since 2001 and has built up a substantial
following over that time. Live he is extremely entertaining. Whilst his songs
make the listener think, his between song banter make audience members laugh and
smile. He is the complete entertainer.
Support will come from the hugely popular Hull trio Farewell Fairground
who, over the last 3 years have built up a large following on the north bank of
the Humber and beyond.
Advance Tickets for this concert
will be £11.00, and can be obtained from the usual outlets.
Other acts booked in 2016 include Eric Brace and
Peter Cooper, Callaghan, The Mighty Doonans, The Shook Twins, Hannah Aldridge,
Lynne Hanson and the Good Intentions, 10 string Symphony and Gilmore &
Roberts, with more to be announced.
We would like as many people as possible to come
and enjoy the concerts we put on. Why not ask your friends?
Any person buying 6 tickets up to one week
before any concert will get £1 off the ticket price on all tickets
purchased.
