Ed Sheeran's Record-Breaking Run Continues at #1 and #2 on UK Singles Chart
MusicNews.com reports that Ed Sheeran’s extended run at Number 1 and 2 on the Official Singles
Chart means he sets a new UK chart record this week.
The Suffolk singer-songwriter's double release hold their positions for a fifth consecutive week, with Shape Of You at 1 and Castle On The Hill at 2. Shape Of You was downloaded 41,000 times and played 8.14 million times on streaming services to keep its place at the top.
It's the longest time an act has held the Top 2 positions on the Official Chart, overtaking Justin Bieber, who logged four weeks with Sorry and Love Yourself in November/December 2015.
