Birds of Chicago @ Kirton In Lindsay Town Hall on 1st November 2019

TOWN HALL LIVE

FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER

BIRDS OF CHICAGO
with support from DANNY BRADLEY
'Birds of Chicago reassert the simple notion that beautiful word and music can tap a deep vein of emotion.  They seduce you with their joyous, intimate, rousing and hauntingly evocative lyrics.'

Birds of Chicago are the collective centred around Jeremy (JT) Lindsay and Allison Russell.  On their current UK Tour they will be joined by ace guitarist Steve Dawson,
Prior to 2012 Jeremy and Allison played in different bands, Allison with Po' Girl and Jeremy with JT & The Clouds.  Both played at THL with these bands.  They joined forces in 2013, and Jeremy found himself a transcendental vocal muse in Allison and the band honed it's chops by playing 200 shows a year between 2013 & 2017.  Together, there is a unmistakable chemistry, with Jeremy finding the perfect voice for his rock and roll psalms.  Both sing, Jeremy plays guitar, whilst Allison plays banjo, percussion and out of this world clarinet.
Their latest album 'Love in Wartime' contains one memorable song after another, with each tune creating it's own musical suite filled with spiraling melodic beauty.  With 'Love in Wartime' they have created a buzz and have broken through to a much wider audiences throughout America the UK and Europe.  It particularly the cast at Festivals, where over the last two summers they have played Celtic Connections, Cambridge Folk Festival, The Isle of Sky Festival and the Shrewsbury Folk Festival among others.
Support will come form THL favourite DANNY BRADLEY. who we feel is the perfect match for Birds of Chicago.  Besides being an excellent  Danny is a unique and distinctive voice.  He is so well liked by THL audiences, that has been called back to play encores in each of his six previous solo appearances.  He is that good.

HANNAH ALDRIDGE

There are few artists that can truly encapsulate the essence of true Americana like Muscle Shoals artist HANNAH ALDRIDGE, whose musical pedigree speaks for itself.  With sounds ranging from blues, to the musical stylings of her hometown and Nashville, where she now lives, Hannah leaves no inspiration or influence untapped.

Her music is sometimes wild, introspective, celebratory, regretful, boisterous and gentle. It is American music dressed in rags, not rhinestones.  Hannah never shies away from honesty in her songs,  Her Alabama twang mixes with a rock edge and the songs are delivered with a burning intensity.  You cannot help but be moved by them.

As a performer, Hannah holds her audience in the palm of her hand putting on a stunning show with her strong, clear and emotion packed vocals.

 LIVE KIRTON

 CALLAGHAN

support: ROBERT

 VINCENT

Friday 17th March,

2017

We are delighted to welcome back Callaghan to Kirton.  Originally from Grantham, Callaghan moved from London to America in the summer of 2010.  She was unknown in the States, but was drawn to Atlanta by one of her biggest influences, Shawn Mullins.  He agreed to produce her first album 'Life in Full Colour'.  It was the classic story of an artist taking risks and throwing their life into upheaval to chase one's dream, and boy how it has paid off..
Callaghan now lives in Nashville.  She is one of those performers whose genuine sweetness is apparent in her voice and it shines through in her writing.  Her music blurs the edges between pop, adult contemporary and Americana.  She is a truly talented performer.  BBC's Bob Harris is a fan and says  'Callaghan is a wonderful artist, beautiful warm and hugely talented.
Callaghan's songs reflect moments and experiences in her own life, as well as stories that people have shared with her.   They are not strictly biographical, but are written in a universal way, which allows her audience to connect the songs to their own lives.
It is exactly 12 months since Callaghan's last appearance at Town Hall Live.  It was a sold out show.  For this concert she will be accompanied by Pete Rinaldi on guitar and Dan Snyder on keyboards.
Since then she has released 'Acoustic Coffee House'  which is a 'live studio' performance of her favourite songs from her two studio albums, plus live favourites.
Supporting Callaghan will be Liverpool singer songwriter Robert Vincent, who last year won the Emerging Artist Award at Americana UK.  His songs are laced with blues and country.  As Bob Harris says 'Robert Vincent is the real deal.
She will be joined on her latest UK tour by Peter on guitar and Dan Snyder on keyboards.
Advance tickets are priced at £12.50.  Tickets are on sale now and can be obtained from the One Stop store in the town, from Brian on 01652 649230 or from www.wegottickets.com
