TOWN HALL LIVE FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER BIRDS OF CHICAGO with support from DANNY BRADLEY 'Birds of Chicago reassert the simple notion that beautiful word and music can tap a deep vein of emotion.  They seduce you with their joyous, intimate, rousing and hauntingly evocative lyrics.' Birds of Chicago are the collective centred around Jeremy (JT) Lindsay and Allison Russell.  On their current UK Tour they will be joined by ace guitarist Steve Dawson, Prior to 2012 Jeremy and Allison played in different bands, Allison with Po' Girl and Jeremy with JT & The Clouds.  Both played at THL with these bands.  They joined forces in 2013, and Jeremy found himself a transcendental vocal muse in Allison and the band honed it's chops by playing 200 shows a year between 2013 & 2017.  Together, there is a unmistakable chemistry, with Jeremy finding the perfect voice for his rock and roll psalms.  Both sing, Jeremy plays guitar, whilst Allison plays banjo, percussion and out of this world clarinet. Their latest album 'Love in Wartime' contains one memorable song after another, with each tune creating it's own musical suite filled with spiraling melodic beauty.  With 'Love in Wartime' they have created a buzz and have broken through to a much wider audiences throughout America the UK and Europe.  It particularly the cast at Festivals, where over the last two summers they have played Celtic Connections, Cambridge Folk Festival, The Isle of Sky Festival and the Shrewsbury Folk Festival among others. The Mighty Doonans were formed from The Doonan Family Band, that included the then youngsters Mick Doonan, Kevin Doonan, Phil Murray  and Stu Luckley.  On forming The Mighty Doonans the four were joined by Ian 'Walter' Fairburn, along with the 'next generation' family members Frances Doonan, Rosie Doonan, Ben Murray and Jamie Luckley. The band have the ability to blend different genres of music, dance and the occasional joke into their act.  It leads to a thoroughly enjoyable evening that delights every audience they play in front of.  They deliver the traditions and influences with powerhouse arrangements, such as Same Cooke's 'Bring it on Home' and sensitive interpretations of songs like Eddie Pickford's 'Johnny Miner'. TOWN HALL LIVE   OUR NEXT CONCERT IS ON SATURDAY 3RD FEBRUARY, 2018 we present an evening with WILSON & WAKEMAN A guaranteed evening of entertainment from two of the UK's finest musicians - great musicianship, singing, songs and atmosphere, you can't ask for much more.   Featuring DAMIAN WILSON on vocals and acoustic guitar and ADAM WAKEMAN on keyboards, vocals and acoustic guitar.  The duo will be playing songs from their individual back catalogues and from artists they have worked with, along with tracks from their duo album 'Weir Keepers Tales' and Damian's latest solo album 'Built for Fighting' intertwined with stories and memories from their touring careers.  It is a show that should not be missed. DAMIAN WILSON is widely known for his contribution to the progressive rock genre, as lead singer with bands such as Threshold, Headspace and Landmarq.  He has appeared on over 70 albums and had released five solo albums.  He is a respected guest vocalist, working with Rick Wakeman's English Rock Ensemble, Mostly Autumn, Praying Mantis and others.  He played the lead role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables on their UK National Tour.  Damian has one of the most versatile voices in music with an incredible range. ADAM WAKEMAN is most well known as the keyboard player with Black Sabbath,  2017 was Adam's fourteenth year as a member of Ozzy Osbourne's band.  He has released nine albums with his father Rick and much of his early touring was with Rick.  They played all over the world, either with the two of them sitting at grand pianos or in full scale rock appearances with orchestras and choirs.  Adam is a highly sought after keyboard player and musical director.  His career has seen him tour, write and record with some of the biggest selling artists in the recording industry.  In 2016, he accompanied Callaghan on her second visit to Town Hall Live.  He has wanted to come back ever since and we feel privileged to put on this concert.  It is sure to be a magical evening. Callaghan now lives in Nashville.  She is one of those performers whose genuine sweetness is apparent in her voice and it shines through in her writing.  Her music blurs the edges between pop, adult contemporary and Americana.  She is a truly talented performer.  BBC's Bob Harris is a fan and says  'Callaghan is a wonderful artist, beautiful warm and hugely talented. Callaghan's songs reflect moments and experiences in her own life, as well as stories that people have shared with her.   They are not strictly biographical, but are written in a universal way, which allows her audience to connect the songs to their own lives. It is exactly 12 months since Callaghan's last appearance at Town Hall Live.  It was a sold out show.  For this concert she will be accompanied by Pete Rinaldi on guitar and Dan Snyder on keyboards. Lynne's songs are familiar and comfortable, yet fearless and strong.  Live her performances are polished and rocking, as those who attended last year's concert will testify.  This time around The Good Intentions will consist of Brodie Mohninger on lead guitar, MJ Dandeneau on bass and Shawn Killaly on drums.  The band are known for their hard living style of music, mixing gritty ballads with driving roots tinged guitar. Supporting will be ex Rita Payne member Rhiannon Scutt.  Since her last appearance Rhiannon has been busy writing new songs and will give them an airing at this concert.
