Statement From New Theatre Peterborough

OUR THEATRE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED... BUT WE'LL BE BACK

New Theatre Peterborough

During these challenging times, the safety of our customers, teams and visiting companies remains our top priority. Therefore we have taken the sad decision to remain closed until 19th November.

In order to ensure the sustainability of your venue, we will also be closing our offices until the beginning of July. This means there will be no support available during this time, for you, our valued customer. Please be assured that we will be back as soon as possible to answer any questions you may have.

If you have tickets to affected shows, or are awaiting a refund, please do not worry. Your tickets/money are safe and will be transferred or refunded as soon as we can.

If we have not yet received your preference via one of our emails for a performance that was cancelled or rescheduled, we may have automatically transferred or credited your tickets in order to keep them secure. You will still qualify for a refund should you prefer and this can be processed once we re-open. You can check your tickets or the value of your credit by logging in to your account on our website.

We politely request that you do not email or call us during this time as we will not be able to respond.

We continue to work closely with all producers to reschedule as many shows as possible and we will be in touch as soon as these are confirmed.

Weezer special guests on The Simpsons

Weezer special guests on The Simpsons...

Following the release of their epic new song Hero a couple days ago, Weezer were special guests on The Simpsons which aired in the U.S.A .UK fans will be able to watch the episode on 22nd May on Sky 1, at 8.30pm.

The episode, entitled ‘The Hateful Eight Year-Olds’, sees Weezer voicing a cover band named Sailor’s Delight, who are the house band on a romantic cruise taken by Homer and Marge.

Some of Sailor’s Delight’s songs in the episode will sound familiar to you, particularly if you were a fan of Weezer (The Black Album) or Pacific Daydream, but one song is completely new: debuting worldwide on The Simpsons, the track is called Blue Dream, and will be featured on the band’s forthcoming album, Van Weezer.

The Little Unsaid
London/Aarhus-based band The Little Unsaid - BBC6 Music regulars and winners of the Steve Reid Foundation Award for Boundary-Pushing New Music – return with an album of raw, restless and celebratory music all brought together while in the limbo of lockdown life, plus an energised live show offering an injection of hope for 2021.
Acclaim for their previous album Atomise saw their sound likened to artists as diverse as Nick Cave (Line of Best Fit), Radiohead, Joni Mitchell and Roy Harper (The Guardian).
The (as yet untitled) new album scheduled for release in May 2021 on Reveal Records (Joan As Police Woman, Lau, Boo Hewerdine, Eddi Reader) is being recorded remotely between the four band members – and marries John Elliott's crafted, melodic songwriting with far less conventional elements, through necessity of isolation – from the found sounds of a forest mixed into pounding, beats-heavy electronica to an exultant, life-affirming call-to-arms composed and recorded in John Elliott's tiny South London flat during the claustrophobia of lockdown.
All bound by Elliott's sometimes intimate, often soaring vocals and visceral, deeply personal lyrics together with string arrangements that recall Warren Ellis's most heart-rending themes.
The Little Unsaid's loyal live audience has been boosted by repeated plays on BBC6 Music by the likes of Guy Garvey, Iggy Pop and Tom Robinson; known for shows which involve a rich emotional journey – in 2021 the band will focus on full-on performances and cathartic release, spotlighting straight-to-the-heart songwriting and the sampled elements of the album's making. And driven by excitement to get back on the road and share live music again.

Wrackline, A New Album From Fay Hield

Wrackline, the new album from Fay Hield, looks at traditional stories involving the
‘otherworld’ of fairies, ghosts and the animal kingdom, the new work explores our emotional responses to the space between their realm and our own. Working through imaginary space to make things real. “We all search to connect with others – we are entranced by those we cannot connect with and find ways to tell their stories to explain our own.”

The album is set to be released this September and will contain some interpretations of traditional songs and responses to carefully selected songs exploring their meaning and drawing on personal experience and beliefs.
Fay is accompanied on the new album by a stellar cast of some of the finest folk musicians working today; Rob Harbron, Sam Sweeney, Ben Nicholls and Ewan McPherson.

Signed copies of Wrackline are available to pre-order from our store on Propermusic.com.
