To many of you Scunthorpe born Martin will need no introduction.  He is one of folk music's leading lights.  He has been nominated an amazing 31 times in 15 years at the BBC Folk Awards, more than any other artists.  He has twice won the 'Musician of the Year' accolade, as well as many others. After 35 years as a professional musician Martin is always looking at ways to evolve, whether it be as a solo artist or in band ventures, such as being a member of The Full English or in collaboration with other artists, which in the past have included the likes of Richard Thompson, Dick Gaughan, Jackson Browne and Steve Miller to name but a few. Martin is widely acknowledged as one of the finest acoustic, slide guitar and banjo players in the world, his interpretations of traditional songs are second to none and his own songs are masterpieces of story telling.  He spent 15 years in the deep south of America and there is no other artist who has successfully combined the diverse elements of British and Afro American blues more effectively. His solo shows are intense, eclectic, spellbinding and deeply moving. DANNY SCHMIDT   Saturday 26th  September, 2015   Named by the Chicago Tribune as one of the 50 most significant songwriters in the last 50 years.  The Austin, Texas singer songwriter has amassed a cult following for his stunningly poetic and poignant imagery.  In his use of parable and allegory, he his often compared with Cohen and Dylan, and his songs are of such quality and beauty that they more than hold their own in this exalted company. Live, his guitar playing is exceptional and his voice his distinctive and mellifluous.  Danny will be accompanied on his latest tour by his wife Carrie Elkin, who some of you will remember from her own headlining show last year. Support will come from Harrogate singer and keyboard player Vicky Whelan.  Last year Vicky recorded her latest EP 'Closer to the Sun' with her band Dragonfly Tattoo.  It boasts a haunting blend of fragilty and strength. Last year she released a Christmas album ‘Each Christmas Till Then’ which features 9 well known carols along with two of her own Christmas songs. In May this year Ruth endeared herself to the audience when she played keyboards, bass and percussion in Kimmie Rhodes band.  She also plays in Beth Nielsen Chapman's touring band.  She impressed us so much that we immediately asked her back to play a special Christmas concert. Ruth is a multi- instrumentalist and has a unique style she pours emotion into her songs and music.  She will be accompanied by Clare Mulligan. Supporting Ruth and Clare will be Leeds band The Fireside Knights, who will also play a Christmas set. Since their sold out concert in February Pete and Rhiannon have been very busy.  Their THL concert was quickly followed by another sell out concert at The Greystones, Sheffield.  They have played numerous festivals and supported top acts at large venues across the country. In March they went into the Studio to record their second album 'We're Getting There Aren't We'.   The CD was produced by Alan Smyth, who has previously recorded the Artic Monkeys.  The album was crowd funded and launched at The Memorial Hall, Sheffield in July.  It is a gem. On October 24th they will again bring their band, comprising of Tom Howe (guitar), Pete Howe (violin) and Robin Baker (double bass).  They will play songs from the new album and old favourites from 'Stories From A Suitcase'. At the February headliner Rita Payne took things to another level, watch them go up another notch this time. Supporting will be Luke Jackson, a 19 year old songwriter from Canterbury.  Although his roots are in folk music, Luke's guitar technique and dynamic voice suggest an emerging rock star. Sat 6th	Merlin’s Keep (Celtic Rock/Folk) Old Nicks welcome back this very talented Grimsby based band. An exuberant mix of original material with three- and four-part harmonies, covers of old favourites, and foot-stomping traditional fiddle tunes. 9pm start.
Fri 12th	Acoustic Night.  Our monthly session (second Friday of each month) featuring Meg McPartlin, a very talented young female artist performing her own twists on your favourite classics both new and old and a mix of her own written material, starting at 10pm.  We would also like to invite those who like to have a play and join in or, if they wish, play a few songs solo before our featured guest starts (please bring your own instruments). The idea is to enjoy a nice sedate evening soaking up the easy listening music that acoustic instruments offer.  (No Electric). 8pm start

Sat 20th	Firegarden (Classic Rock/Progressive/Funk) Old Nicks welcome back this band from Sheffield as it is always a pleasure to see these guys perform.  Firegarden are a band that believe in the expression of emotion in it's purest form: live and rocking! With a multitude of influences, from classic '70's rock to absolutely anything that excites your ears. They sound ‘British’, but not slavishly so. 9pm start
Sat 27th	Jester (Classic Rock/Classic Metal) Old Nicks welcome back these Nottingham guys who are now a 4 piece playing a wide range of songs from the 70s to date.  Influences include Iron Maiden, Rainbow, Metallica, Motorhead, Black Sabbath and many more. 9pm start.
