Presenting The Wonderful Sound of the Cinema Organ.

 Laughing Dog Music Presents...

The Wonderful Sound of the Cinema Organ are a Leeds based 9 piece ensemble comprising Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano, Cello, Violin, Saxophone, Trumpet and Vocals. Working with both music and film visuals the band layer up richly textured harmonies and hypnotic rhythms, all set to archive footage, collected and edited to reflect each piece.

Over the past 18 months the band have had airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music and have enjoyed playing at festivals such as Musicport, Shambala, Beatherder and Beacons, several venues in Leeds, London, Nottingham and Bristol and a really special show at Islington's esteemed Union Chapel not to mention the Natural History Museum!

"The texture of The Wonderful Sound Of The Cinema Organ is both fresh and alive and for sixty minutes a magical spell is woven across this intimate room. With the fluidity of their arrangements drawing upon the more traditional aspects of manouche jazz, Afro-American gospel and southern soul, they also manage to harness these influences to the beat of an altogether more different, more modern drum" - (god is in the tv).

Danny & The Champions Of The World - Kirton Town Hall Live!

Danny and the Champions of the World
Performing @ Kirton Town Hall Live

STOCKHOLM - BARCELONA - VALENCIA - MADRID - GLASTONBURY - LONDON - KIRTON!

For our next concert we welcome London band Danny and The Champions of the World to Kirton.  Danny is Danny George Wilson, The Champions are Paul Lush (guitar), Chris Clarke (bass), Steve Brookes (drums) and Geoff Widdowson (keyboards, saxophone).
They are just back from tours of Scandinavia and Spain and fit the THL concert in between UK festival appearances and a 20 date UK tour.  We are extremely fortunate and privileged to have them play for us.
In September last year, they released their fourth album 'Stay True'.  The CD is their best yet.  It gained rave reviews in the national and music press, being voted 'Album of the Year' by many.  It was inspired by the great soul, blues, country and rock and roll of Stax and Muscle Shoals ..... it is Ronnie Lane meets Phil Spector.
The Champs are a brilliant live band and have been likened to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.  Don't miss this opportunity to see them, we may not get another chance.

Support will come from Coventry singer songwriter Steve Jones of Stylus Boy.

Check both acts out on our web site at...
Advance tickets are priced at £10 and can be obtained from the One Stop store in the town, from Brian on 01652 649230 or from
Don't miss it!

Eliza Carthy will be the musical director of TOPIC @ TOWERSEY. We've invited Norma Waterson, Martin Carthy and the Gift Band with some of the country’s brightest younger performers - some signed to Topic, some not - to re-visit songs from the classic Topic repertoire.
