TOWN HALL LIVE   WE HAVE TWO CONCERTS COMING UP IN QUICK SUCCESSION AND THE WILL BOTH BE FANTASTIC - THE FIRST IS ON FRIDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER  with GREG RUSSELL & CIARAN ALGAR Greg Russell and Ciaran Algar are two time BBC Folk Award winners and are two of the most sought after UK folk-rock duos. It could be their pull no punches song writing.  It could be Russell's remarkable voice and Algar's distinctive and fluid fiddle.  It could be their take on traditional songs, their empathy, infectious concerts or the way they tackle topical issues.  Whatever it is, Greg Russell and Ciaran Algar have got it Since they got together in 2011 the pair have released four albums, the latest of which ' Utopia & Wasteland' came out at the beginning of 2018.  All four contain mainly self penned songs, telling stories and issue relevant statements about the world past and present. All feature Greg's superb guitar playing and voice that is ideally suited to the folk genre, whilst award winning fiddle player drives the music along. Live they bounce off each other, with entertaining tales of life on the road and beyond. Their camaraderie and playing is infectious and leads to a thoroughly entertaining evening. The band undertook their first UK tour last year and it was an outstanding success with many sold out shows.  This year's concert is the penultimate date of the tour.  The bands' back catalogue is a match for anyone's.  There is an emphatic and charming wit to Amanda's song writing.  She has a knack for accessing a deep well of emotion and applying it to her story telling. Her singing song writing and presence in unmatched in Americana.  She is simply breath taking and so good it's ridiculous, her singing, song writing and presence is unmatched in American music. Birds of Chicago - Coming to Town Hall Live Kirton

TOWN HALL LIVE   OUR NEXT CONCERT IS ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 7TH MAY  BIRDS OF CHICAGO In so many ways we are a word weary culture, ever searching for ways to communicate in fewer and fewer syllables.  Our on line, blogged out, Yor tubed attention spans are truncated and fragmented like never before, BIRDS OF CHICAGO the collective centred around Jeremy Lindsay (aka JT Nero) and Allison Russell, reassert the simple notion that beautiful words and music can still tap deep veins of emotion. The band were formed in 2012, when Nero began writing for his vocal star muse Russell.  Both were accomplished singer song writers of their own, Jeremy with his band, JT & The Clouds and Allison with the acclaimed roots outfit Po'Girl, but together there was an unmistakable chemistry.  JT had found the perfect voice for his rock and roll psalms, whilst Allison moved from being the primary songwriter to interpreter. Both JT & The Clouds and Po'Girl played Town Hall Live in the early days and Birds of Chicago last played Kirton in 2013.  In the five years since, the band have developed a fervent following across America, touring 200 dates a year, sometimes as a five piece band and sometimes as a four piece.  They have released four albums and they are back in the UK to promote their latest CD 'Love in Wartime' which is released in on May 4th, and excellent it is too. In addition to Jeremy on guitar and vocals and Allison on banjo, clarinet and vocals, the band will be made up of Deren Ney (guitar), Chris Merrill (bass) and Nick Chambers (drums) Check out a video of their song American Flowers Support will come from local artist Luke Todd.  With poignant lyricism in his songs, Luke conveys his thoughts in a way that capture how many of us feel, but rarely find the way to express. Bristol based Elles has a talent for seamlessly weaving roots, blues and rock, with a contemporary edge.  After releasing 2 EP's in 2016, she released her debut album, 'Wildfire' in September 2017.  The album attracted 5 star reviews across the music press, and the lead single from it was supported by BBC Radio 2.  Elles recorded the album at the world famous Blackbird studios in Nashville with top producer Brad Nowell.  It features some of Nashville's top musicians and was 'blended' back in the UK.  The result is a unique coming together of trans-Atlantic styles. Elles will perform with her band that includes Joe Wilkins on lead guitar, Zak Raymond on bass and Tom Gilkes on drums, with Elles trademark husky vocals providing the lead. Supporting Elles will be Bridlington singer song writer Gracie Falls, who in 2016 won the UK Unsigned Artist Award. TOWN HALL LIVE   OUR NEXT CONCERT IS ON SATURDAY 3RD FEBRUARY, 2018 we present an evening with WILSON & WAKEMAN A guaranteed evening of entertainment from two of the UK's finest musicians - great musicianship, singing, songs and atmosphere, you can't ask for much more.   Featuring DAMIAN WILSON on vocals and acoustic guitar and ADAM WAKEMAN on keyboards, vocals and acoustic guitar.  The duo will be playing songs from their individual back catalogues and from artists they have worked with, along with tracks from their duo album 'Weir Keepers Tales' and Damian's latest solo album 'Built for Fighting' intertwined with stories and memories from their touring careers.  It is a show that should not be missed. DAMIAN WILSON is widely known for his contribution to the progressive rock genre, as lead singer with bands such as Threshold, Headspace and Landmarq.  He has appeared on over 70 albums and had released five solo albums.  He is a respected guest vocalist, working with Rick Wakeman's English Rock Ensemble, Mostly Autumn, Praying Mantis and others.  He played the lead role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables on their UK National Tour.  Damian has one of the most versatile voices in music with an incredible range. ADAM WAKEMAN is most well known as the keyboard player with Black Sabbath,  2017 was Adam's fourteenth year as a member of Ozzy Osbourne's band.  He has released nine albums with his father Rick and much of his early touring was with Rick.  They played all over the world, either with the two of them sitting at grand pianos or in full scale rock appearances with orchestras and choirs.  Adam is a highly sought after keyboard player and musical director.  His career has seen him tour, write and record with some of the biggest selling artists in the recording industry.  In 2016, he accompanied Callaghan on her second visit to Town Hall Live.  He has wanted to come back ever since and we feel privileged to put on this concert.  It is sure to be a magical evening. Her music is sometimes wild, introspective, celebratory, regretful, boisterous and gentle. It is American music dressed in rags, not rhinestones.  Hannah never shies away from honesty in her songs,  Her Alabama twang mixes with a rock edge and the songs are delivered with a burning intensity.  You cannot help but be moved by them.
