Penguin Cafe Tonight
Sunday 6 September 7.30pm at Lincoln Drill Hall
The
Penguin Cafe was founded by Arthur Jeffes in 2009, bringing together a talented
and disparate group of musicians from the likes of Suede, Gorillaz and
Razorlight, initially to perform his father Simon Jeffes’ legacy of world
renowned Penguin Cafe Orchestra music, ten years after his untimely death in
1997.
Arthur,
a talented composer in his own right, quickly began to create new and unique
genre-defying music, with the spellbinding philosophy of the Penguin Cafe
always in his mind. A uniquely exciting opportunity to hear this extraordinary
brand of globally inspired but category-defying music that will bring
Festival800 to a magnificent close. Tickets: £16 from 01522 873894

Coming Your Way The Whiskey Brothers
COMING YOUR WAY THE WHISKEY BROTHERS
Hot out of the fertile
Blues Delta of Birmingham, The Whiskey Brothers are ready to take to the road
with their own personal take on the hokum rural blues and jug music of
1930s/1950s America.
They have an album set for release on Big Bear
Records.
It’s called ‘Bottle Up And Go’, recorded in June
at Gospel Oak Studios, deep in the
English Mid-West:
