New Jazz 5 presents Liane Carroll @ Lincoln Drill Hall 11 October 8 pm
New Jazz 5 has probably received more requests to book this artist than any other in recent years, so here she is! A stunning performer who has established a national and international reputation and in doing so she has won many awards. Don’t miss this deeply soulful, wonderfully honest style of singing from a truly great artist …with a wicked sense of humour too! ‘Some musicians are talented, some brilliant and a few just seem to be made out of music. Liane Carroll is one of these’ The Observer

@ Lincoln Drill Hall Tuesday 07 Oct 2014 8pm
Nominated in the 2009 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, the
Faustus triumvirate are 3 of the leading lights of their generation: Saul Rose

plethora of experience between them, brought together here in a virtuosic
display of musicianship and testosterone. Rooted deeply in the English
tradition, in 2007 they received a 75th Anniversary Award from the English Folk
Dance and Song Society.

Carrie Elkin @ Kirton Town Hall Sunday 28th Sep
Carrie Elkin Performing @ Kirton Town Hall Live
Sunday 28th September
Carrie Elkin from
Austin, Texas is a born performer, possessing an infectious energy and having
the most powerful voice which is revelatory and riveting.
Very few people in this world can captivate an audience live music, with just a voice and guitar the way Carrie can. Her songs are, at once, intimate yet universal, naked but richly adorned. When she was younger Carrie was a national champion gymnast, who then went on to study physiology at Ohio University to become an organic chemist.
Music, however, was in her blood and the attention she was gaining from her song writing gave rise to a career change as she began to record and tour across America. In 2011 she released her debut CD for Red House Records ‘Call It My Garden’ and the CD immediately topped the folk and Americana Radio Charts in the states.
In May this year she released a duo album ‘For Keeps’ with her partner, and soon to be husband, Danny Schmidt. It sees the two performers passing guitar back and forth and sharing songs, with each joining the other in harmony.
For the concert she will be joined by accomplished musicians Anthony Da Costa on guitar/vocals and Lindsey Verill on bass/cello/vocals.
Support will come from Manchester singer/songwriter Little Rach, who herself released her debut album ‘If You Go’ earlier in the year.
