Following a truly magical string of Nic and Joe Jones live concerts last month, Nic Jones fans can now enjoy a new Topic DVD containing the superb documentary shown last year on BBC Four.

The Nic Jones Trio perform three songs in rehearsal, 'Master Kilby', 'Rue The Day' and 'I Only Spoke Portuguese'; Eliza Carthy plays a stunning version of '10,000 Miles'; Blair Dunlop's interpretation of 'Canadee-I-O' clearly shows how Nic's guitar-playing influences younger performers, and Nic's former Bandoggs bandmate Pete Coe plays one of Nic's live staples, 'On a Monday Morning' and a Bandoggs favourite, 'Astley's Ride/Up and Away'.

In February 2013, Songwriter and theatre maker Tom Adams bought a slide projector and 500 slides from eBay. The slides were of people he did not know but he could not help asking, what is their story? 

Tom performs a live soundtrack of music, comedy and stories to these images in a gentle exploration of mortality. He also searches through images of his own life, placing them side by side with the strangers, wondering if his memories will, one day, be just a slide sold on eBay.

Acoustic Nights at the Turnor Arms Wragby

Acoustic Nights are recommencing at The Turnors in Wragby on Tuesday 28th October 2014. The organisers are expecting a bumper turnout

The evening will be dedicated to the memory of Richard Langridge  who was the original founder of our Wragby Acoustic gathering. The night will run in much the same way as it always has. Some friendly banter, a few good laughs, a few drinks and some good music with some good friends.

The Wragby Acoustic Nights have been running for many years now and they hope to keep them going for many more to come. The organisers look forward to seeing you on this SPECIAL SPECIAL NIGHT and hope that you will continue to join them in the future and enable us to always keep the last Tuesday of the month, in Wragby, special.

Since their sold out concert in February Pete and Rhiannon have been very busy.  Their THL concert was quickly followed by another sell out concert at The Greystones, Sheffield.  They have played numerous festivals and supported top acts at large venues across the country. In March they went into the Studio to record their second album 'We're Getting There Aren't We'.   The CD was produced by Alan Smyth, who has previously recorded the Artic Monkeys.  The album was crowd funded and launched at The Memorial Hall, Sheffield in July.  It is a gem. On October 24th they will again bring their band, comprising of Tom Howe (guitar), Pete Howe (violin) and Robin Baker (double bass).  They will play songs from the new album and old favourites from 'Stories From A Suitcase'. At the February headliner Rita Payne took things to another level, watch them go up another notch this time. Supporting will be Luke Jackson, a 19 year old songwriter from Canterbury.  Although his roots are in folk music, Luke's guitar technique and dynamic voice suggest an emerging rock star. She will be accompanied by Luke Jacobs, whose subtle guitar provides the perfect foil for Carrie's driving violin and emotive singing. Support will come from Otley teenagers, The Velveteens who have been gaining quite a reputation locally.
